Resistance, which I made a HUGE mistake on. I already had a 360 and was in no rush to buy a PS3, but I had to play Resistance..............and I hated it. Now 8 months, a price drop and no new games later, I can finally dust it off. Heavenly Sword, Drake, Stranglehold Collector's Edition, and Haze make me happy I made the leap. Even if lost lost out on 100 bucks.
Last year, at E3 06, I liked that there were lots of great exclusives, such as Warhawk. Many of those have drifted to the 360, but I'm still happy with my PS3.
already owned an xbox 360 with hd dvd add on, and a wii. i have a 1080p lcd sharp and wanted to watch blu-ray movies. i owned ps and ps2 sysyems and wanted to play some of the older games in my collection without havin multiple systems hooked up (messy cords). and i love sport games on the controllers. but above all a great blu-ray player.

The fact that its an overall great entertainment hub. It has everything that you could possibly want and then some. Plus its made by sony and i own a ps1,ps2,psp and they are all quality products.
I choose the ps3 because i was such a big fan of the ps1 and ps2. Their games were great. I did get the other systems like xbox, gamecube, nintendo 64 and i could tell the difference. Sony systems are hands down better. Sony may not be the best system right now but i know Sony will pull something to get on top again.
1. great franchises i love, mgs4 FFXIII Ratchet and Clank 2. 1080p TV so i love the blu ray movies 3. Everyone has xbox360. ive always only had playstations and i was happy to be out of the crowd ;)
The fact that when you buy a ps3 , you dont have to keep on buying accessories. Also,its very reliable and you can count on good games in the near future.
becuz i loved snake on portable ops and sincethat i wanted to get a second dose of snake on the PS3, i really liked the ps2 games so especially, ratchet and clank i owned three of them and the fantasic games coming and the extreme graphics and the ohso much varieity.
Lair, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet, Uncharted, Wipeout HD all appealed to me + with the price drop just occuring and the 5 bluray offer i thought now was the time to buy.
I simply bought the PS3 because it was the newer system. Maybe I shouldnt have took it in that perspective because right now it wouldnt be a better time to buy a X360 in preparation for the Halo 3. Ill find by next year if I made a wise decision.
Well had a good collection of PS1-PS2 games got to love being able to play the classics as well as newer games which are comming. I have Rfom, Oblivion, the darkness and Warhawk BETA. Being able to play cd~blu ray media formats cant go wrong. Constantly improving the software (XMB) instead of limited it also good, Free Online play and i dont care if donwloading off the store takes 2+hr on 600MB+ demos even on 8Mbps download from ISP cause guess what i'm downloading a dvd-rip in same time frame on my PC at same time. Had a PS2 before trading up for 5 years and not one complaint. About the only complaint i have abotu PS3 is lake of rumble feature, yeah i know about lawsuit and battery life and Sony is trying to resolve this asap. Sony if you're listening all i ask is please let us who dont have rumble send in our controller and get new one for free or in store like EBgames, etc for atleast a reasonable upgrade exchange like idk ($10) more. Other then that the in-game music XMB would be good for some game but not all, i like to hear my surroundings in FPS not music cause that when i die most from not hearing stuff (footsteps heard before gunfire typically).
HMMM. Lets just go with the power this thing has, and the fact that the processor is the first of its kind. Theres one thing I gotta say tho. Developers really, really need to step up here. I noticed that on all the PS3 exclusives seem to have no Anti-Alaising issues, or no jagged edges. This just tells me that these third-party developers need to spend as much time on ps3 as they do on 360, notmake a port out of a360 title.This really gets me fed up with all these worse than 360 reviews, hell it even seems that gamespot plays favorites, although they are getting a bit better. AA issues are the only thing Ive noticed different in the two systems. Everyone also seems to talk the richer colors on the 360, richer meaning brighter and standing out a bit more, but also not very realistic.
getting a variety of new titles and some of the old favorites like final fantasy and mgs. And also i wont have to worry about bluray players and i can play my ps2 games in one console
its the only console that really interests me, (the following is purely my own opinion) I don't much care for FPS games (on consoles i much prefer them on PC) and that seems to be all xbox ever has, and nintendo stuff tends to be to kiddy for my taste, Playstation always had the most variety in my opinion and their games tend to keep me hooked on playing it for hours on end.
Side note: as much as i am a fan of the MGS series i hope they can lay it to rest with the release of MGS4 (and MGO) and its "expansion to follow" just becaue without Mr.Kojima at the helm it just wont feel like an MGS game

I wanted a good product not a junky one like xTOTHERINGOFDEATH360.And i didnt want to help bill gates reamass the 53% of his fortune he gave to charity.
The games, the fact tht I have lots of PS2 and PS1 games, the fact that its PS so I know it has much more future than other consoles, and that it wont break anytime soon.
But to sum it up: Lair, White Knight, Metal Gear Solid4, Devil May Cry 4 and both Final Fantasy XIII are the may reasons.
Before i got mine,,i kept seeing which is better,,the 360 had a cheaper price but had a problem pver heating but even tho it didnt have that problem,,i wouldnt buy it because the ps3 has blu-ray and cool games coming up!
