Borderlands. I brought it expecting great FPS gameplay, with a good loot system, and Hardcore replay value. I got a game with near perfect FPS gameplay (the ability to go prone, R1 to fire instead of R2 on the default scheme, and hitscan instead of a delay between shot and hit), a VERY overhyped loot system (I mean, sure, 17.5mil guns, you aren't allowed to count the 50 levels of difference for each weapon you goose. Weapons just felt so repetitive), BROKEN online, with worthless Pvp and buggy friends list functionality, and little to no replay value/grinding/endgame, and a rubbish story (expected, but without the endgame, the game really needed something to make it worth playing).
Surprisingly, none. As I always consult reviews before buying, I very rarely purchase a poor game. I was a little disappointed with Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 but it was still a decent game. I hadn't bought a wrestling game in a while, so I was expecting some improvements over the PS2 versions. Turns out the game was exactly the same as before.
I enjoyed killzone 1 better than KZ 2 for some reason. I regret buying it as well. I just have not really touched it.CravenMenthol
I don't regret buying Killzone 2, but I have to agree with prefering the first Killzone. It was loaded with bugs, and some of the early levels felt like they were on rails a bit much for my taste, but I generally preferred some of the characters more varied settings of the first game. I can't stand Rico in either game.
Resistance 2 is the one I regret buying the most. I gave up on it somewhere early on after playing through a bit of the section with the bug things. By that point there had already been a couple of trial and error cheap death parts in the game. The feel of the game was off somehow, too, though I can't quite put my finger on it exactly. I lovedResistance: Fall of Man and how it felt often felt like there was a mix of Halo, Half-Life and Call of Duty thrown in there. I might pickup Resistance 2 again someday, but it wasn't very fun from what I played of it.
I know everybody else is gonna disagree since just about the whole planet bought it, but I regret Modern Warfare 2. Its not that I hated playing it, I finished it and it was fun for the short time it took to play but its one of the few games I actually paid the full $60 for and I just don't think I even got $30 of enjoyment out of it. I wish I could go back and either buy something else and rented MW2 or waited till it was way cheaper (few months ago got Bioshock 2 at the full $60 and definitely got my money's worth on that one so I guess it is possible even at $60)

You'd be surprised how many people will agree with you, compared to the first one the praise has been rather buried among angry fans. At least from what I've seen on here anyways.
I felt MW2 went backwards from COD4. The weapon balance, map design and just general quality seemed to take a step back. Of course it's so popular because of 2 reasons: it's the sequel to COD4 and it's probably the easiest FPS to play. The killstreaks literally do 70% of the work for you.
I'm gonna get flamed hard for this, but I regret buying God of War 3, it was too short and the ending sucked imo. I also regret buying Socom Confrontation
Please give this game a chance :o I said this at first too, but when I started playing this, I couldn't stop, and could really see why it was voted game of the year
Mirror's Edge. I loved it when I rented it and bought it at $30. I don't know what the hell changed but it frustrated me so much after I bought it. I sold it back. Prince of Persia wasn't worth a purchase (albeit below $30) but it was worth a play.
Wangan Midnight. Apprehensive ofthe language barrier, I still went for it as other English speakers had no trouble with it so I gave it a shot. Few hours in, it really took its toll and made the game unenjoyable.
Uncharted 2. It was a fun game, but I don't care about the multiplayer and could have easily finished the single player in a couple of weeks renting from Gamerang.
