Abe's Odyssey was very first playstation game I've owned and played, and so I guess that too holds a lot of sentimental value, which makes it a great game ^_^
MGS4 hands down it has all 5 of the key elements in video game perfect 1.Story 2.Gameplay 3.Sound 4.Graphics 5. The Lasting Appeal COD4 would be in this discussion yet it's story is far to short to be considered
MGS4 now. Before that RE 4, FF7 was good. GTA SA was pretty cool, but not a top game. Maybe I stick the First Tomb Raider in their, If you played it then, Not now. But MGS4 has done something no one has done In a long time. Make a game that no one will forget for a long time.
Its a game that got back to gaming 90s. When the saw a cool direction. And no developers downgraded to "WW2 with a gun in front of the screen, or red vs Blue." But MGS4 may force developers down the right track, make them less lazy. Red vs Blue was great for developers, because they could make money being lazy, and doing mid 90s development tricks.

I totally agree with MGS4 but I have Asassin's Creed and although the first few hours were brilliant, it got so repetative after that and it just got boring!
just finished playing it, and my god ... mgs4 (with the help of 1,2,3) was the greatest, most amazing artistic experience in gaming i've ever had, and I don't see anything ever touching it. MGS4 Had the best story, the best characters, the best acting and was the best single player experience of all time.
In terms of a plain sheer fun game i can pick up at any time and play. CoD4. strictly because of the online.
call me crazy, but i give MGS4 a 9.8/10. i HATED the beginning of Act 3, & hate the fact that enemies respawn infinitely. makes it seem futile to aid the rebels. it's a great idea; aid the rebels & they'll like you more, but its a shame that it's only ever useful in the first Act. apart from that, it was an amazing, though short, experience.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was pretty astounding to me, then again, so was GoldenEye. From the current generation though, I would have to say either Uncharted, Call of Duty 4, or Metal Gear Solid 4. It will ultimately come down to which stays with me the longest...

Yes Assassin's Creed. I've explained so many times the brilliance of that game that I don't want to do it again. Suffice it to say that I think that game is a masterpiece and I don't think it is at all repetitive.
well about 2 days ago i would have said ff7 but then hello mgs4 i am not saying this because i just beat it. it truly is that good imo and i love this game so much. only game i teared during 2 times.
