What d'you think that is the best game ever made?

Well, since the release of MGS4 and GTA4 which both got 10's (although I think GTA4 is overrated, it deserves more of an 9.2 or something imo) I was wondering what was your favourite game of all time.. I still haven't played MGS4 for yet due to a little money problem but I'll play it soon enough.

Mine are Duke Nukem 3D (hail to the king baby!) and maybe weird but Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (i think i played it non-stop with my friend for about a whole year!). I can't really choose...

Ok, so now that it's unanymous that MGS4 is the best game ever, I'm going to do it in genres, so you have to pick your fav in the different genre, if you don't play a kind of genre, that's ok, than just don't post a fav for it.
So genres are: Shooters(fps or tps, hell even 2D), Action/Adventure (like GoW and DMC), Espionage, Sports, Simulation, RTS, RPG, TBS(turnbased if someone doesn't know what it means), Racing, Adventures, Puzzle, Platformer and if you come up with another genre, please say it.

Call of Duty 4

Rainbow Six Vegas 2

COD4, purely for its online multiplayer and graphics.

Goldeneye 007 or Metal Gear Solid 2.

MGS4 FTW. I dont mind sitting and watching the plot unfold, its important and fun (IMHO) Sure i would rather be playing but i also like knowing what im fighting for.

MGS4 has a great story, gameplay, gunplay and sneaking.

I honestly think that MGS4 is, I'm not too far into the game but it's completely blown me away, from graphics to gameplay, it's amazing. Maybe it's too soon to say, or perhaps I'm still caught up in the hype, but It's definitley looking like it'll be my favourite game ever.CrytekSamuel

MGS4 is very good but the a.i seems to be about the same as in the other games. Example i shot someone near a lookout post hid in the grass as his teammates one by came to check out his dead body each time they stood other him and i shot them in the head, in the end there was a pile of about 4 bodies. A.I isnt very smart, also it seems sometimes there are just endless amounts of enemies in some parts which i dont like. Just a few small points why i dont think it deserves a 10. fhoeiuwhdousah

you try playing in extreme boss mode then you'll see how hard it becomes.

metal gear solid 4, it was totally amazing for 60% then it just went into overdrive..

At the moment it's undoubtedly MGS4 and it will probably stay that way for years to come. The way everything comes together during the course of the game, from gameplay elements to plot developments is a love letter to the fans that have stuck by Kojima and the series since the beginning.

Before the advent of Snake's final mission I would have tied between MGS3, Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil 4.
