If it's released on the 1st then it will most likely be tomorrow evening. The updates usually hit in the late evening hours of the day they are released.
If this happens it will be a first. I have had my PS3 for almost as long as it's been on the market and updates have always been in the evening of it's release date.
It's great that you are certain of this, considering updates have NEVER been available at midnight ever since the Playstation 3 came out. Do you work for Sony or something? LOL :)

Will this fix the lag that can occur every time you compare, sync, or view trophies and will it fix the black outs when a game of video loads?

exactly i am so sick of black outs. What makes the ps3 do that anyway?I'm guessing it's trying to find it what output you are using. I'm using hdmi, and I notice it always happen when I load up a game. I hope this patch will adjust that and make it run smoother. I wonder if this happens with the composite cables too?

This will be great, I already have some money put out for some new animated themes and new avatars. Anyways tomorrow is my first day of school, so I need to go to sleep early tonight and wake up early tomorrow, so either I will update before I got to school or I will update after school.
