Jak and Daxter HD Collection officially CONFIRMED

The first 3 games in HD, each with a platinum trophy and available in 2012? Admit it, you just squealed like a little girl...

During an Uncharted 3 related press conference in Oslo, Justin Richmond apparently confirmed that the Jak and Daxter HD collection that has been constantly requested ever since the first God of War collection is going to be available for purchase in 2012. The collection will contain the first 3 games, polished up and on a single disk, along with trophies.

Nothing else is really known about the collection - things like whether it'll support 3D or not have not currently been confirmed - however, there's not even been a press release sent out yet so it's still early days.

Hugely popular during the PS2 era, fans have found that entries in the series have been non-existant on consoles, so the chance to have a Jak and Daxter platinum on their list will be a chance to jump at. It'll also be a great chance for those who missed out when the games were originally released.

Reaction seems to have been positive to this informal announcement so far, so expect more official details very soon.

Bought Jak 2 and 3 when I purchased a PS2 a few months ago. Played a few hours of Jak 2 and it's not my favorite game to be honest, I still need to try Jak 3 though.

Freaken awesome, I've been waiting so long for this. i really liked the first game but didnt really care for the way jak 2 and 3 were. Regardless It will be great to replay them all on ps3 again. Now Insomniac needs to do this with the 4 ps2 ratchet and clank games.

I buy any and all "collections" that come out. What I have now is:

God of War Collection
God of War Origins Collection
Tomb Raider Collection
Sly Cooper Collection
ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection
Splinter Cell Collection
Prince of Persia Collection

I think that is all that has been released so far. Somebody tell me if I am missing any :!:

Jak and Daxter is the greatest platformer to have ever graced a games system! I loved the sequels despite being darker in tone but the first game is reason enough for me to purchase the collection. I mean the game is pure entertainment and at the time a beautiful experience to behold, like a box-full of cute kittens. I am sure it has aged well but the extra HD polish will indeed be welcomed.

Really happy that they decided to make this collection and so far they've been spot on with the other collections being released.

Yeah, I'm gonna be doing the same like the collection so far though I do not own God of War Origins or Splinter Cell Trilogy yet I do own all the rest that have come out so far. Glad they're making one for Jak & Daxter liked the first game on PS2 still own never completed it though. I also want to get Resident Evil 4, even though I own it on Nintendo Gamecube, Beyond Good & Evil, Final Fantasy X, the other Resident Evil game. and as well as the Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid and Zone of Enders Collections.

on another note anybody know if they are making the Mortal Kombat Collection disc base?

They are all great games. I thought they all had a good flow to them. A lot of people dont like the final ratchet pas2 game, deadlocked,but I rather liked it and thought it was a good end to the ps2 era. Regardless getting to play those games remastered is going to be great.

Big fan of the Jak and Daxterfranchise I played and ownall the PS2 games and the 2 PSP games. This collection will be awesome!!! Of the first 3 games I liked 1 and 2 a lot but the third game was just waaaay off. I could go on and on about the flaws of the third game but I'll leave it at that.
