Nah dude I kept my perfect. Always well vented and always cleaned. Sometimes they just die and theres nothing you can do man. On the other my best friend has a 60gb from 06 and never cleans it. Is in a bad vented area and still runs like a champ. Full of dust and all it never had a problem but thats life right??
Not necessarily. I did everything right but mine still died(60 gb). Sometimes the thermal paste just turns to s**t and doesn't work properly. So then finally the ps3 overheats.People with PS3s dying on them are either doing things they shouldn't do with them, not keeping the vents clean enough or not letting enough ventilation around them. All my PS3s and everyone I know have always kept their PS3s out in the complete open, never in a entertainment center where one side or the other is blocked with a door or anything else.

80gb first day? Lol. Try having the 60GB since DAY 1 & still having it run, man. Mines is still kicking & playing games with no bumps.I mean I cant Really say that I got my PS3 the day it came out, but I bought this 80GB model on 2006 or 2007, and ever since I haven't had one problem with it, HECK! even my controller survived too.
So, I wanted to know, Has your PS3 Stood strong since day one?
