if it was a matter of pure gaming, i would add cross game/private chat...
if it was to win the console war i would recover all those third party games that went multiplatform to be exclusive again like assasins creed, l.a. noire, final fantasy, tekken, devil may cry etc...
I'd redo the XMB.
It's not that I think it's so bad, I just think it could use a refresh to clean it up, reorganize it, and speed it up. This would also apply to in-game XMB, which I do think is horrid.
In addition to the above, I'd make it more compatible with Move, as well as make it 3D compatible.
mandatory installs- especially whens its more then a couple 100mb
i also hate having to install games and demos
the firmware updates + game updates are a big pain too , and that's even after they've improved significantly
Change L2 and R2 to old PlayStation controller, ability to install full game to the hard-drive, proper web-browser, faster XMB when checkingtrophy list while in game as well as messaging to friends.
Minor issues but otherwise, I have no problems.
For me it would be that bubble your downloaded games come up in. Whenever the new playstation comes out I would really love if we could just download a game and play it straight away without installing it separately. Roxas658be able to play ps2 games

You just lost me right there. In terms of gaming partychat has nothing to do with gaming. None what so ever. It has to do with socializing. 2 different things.
If you were playing the same game ( multiplayer/COOP ) & communicating then that feature has to do with gaming. In any multiplayer game you already have the ability to communicate with players with a microphone. The ability to speak to other players is built into any multiplayer game. When you're playing together & communicating then it has to do with gaming
When you're in partychat it is people playing different games while " socializing ", thereby meaning it has nothing to do with gaming. If you're not playing games together...... then being in Partchat would be for socializing, not for playing games. People confuse these 2.
It always pisses me off when people act as if PSN not having Party chat is a game breaker, as if it had anything to do with gaming. Thats why i always say in terms of gaming features XBL has nothing over PSN.
Im sorry for my rant, i just had to point that out.

you are right, so let me re-state it...if it was non businessI would add cloud capabilitys so if you want to play a game on your freinds ps3 your save files are linked to your psn account so you just need to bring the game and log in.
To be honest I love the PS3. The interface isn't cluttered or filled with garbage. I guess I would want backwards compatibility :)
Party Chat/ cross game chat , the ability to send voice messages to people, the ablity to change your psn ID.
I'd want Backwards Compatibility back, I had a great time with old PS2 classics on my fat model, then after a YLoD I had to get a slim.
No mandatory game installs. That uses up HDD space like crazy. The ability for Cross game chatter.
Sorry that is 2 things.
I'd make the Dualshock like the 360's controller.
Vari3ty
You're probably aware of this already but there are already third parties making "Xbox360-like" controllers for PS3. Power A makes a decent one but it's still missing the Xbox's triggers though... Oh and one thing I do like better on the PS3 is the D-pad! LOL I guess there isn't a perfect controller. Cheers.
Longer controller battery life would be something I'd like improved. I swear I'm charging my controller every couple of days, it's annoying. Also, quicker installs would be nice.
[QUOTE="BeachFossils"]The ability to charge the controller when the system is off. unrealtronthat
Correct me if I'm wrong, but can you not us any old USB charger/port to charge the DS3? I know I have plugged mine into my PC and android/iphone charger and it's worked plenty fine for me.
Not having to install every game. Having installation be an option.
That's the one thing I love about the 360. I don't have to install every game. I don't have to worry about harddrive space on my 360.
My PS3 is running out of space, I might be able to buy 2 or 3 more PS3 games with the amount of space I have left.
But for my 360, I can have any amount of games I want because they hardly take up any space since I don't have to install them.
The sticks on the DS3. I want concave thumb sticks. I get clammy hands when I play and my thumbs slip off the DS'. It's not that big of a deal as I have been dealing with it for 3 gens now, but would enjoy a change.

PS3 - 9.5/10.

Yeah I'd say the controller is near perfect, but the new marshmallow triggers aren't that great for shooters that use L2 and R2 and are a bit too sensitive, while concave analog sticks are much more comfy.
this whole thing about playing ps2 games on your ps3, please get over it we're so passed the ps2 it's unbelievable and it seem's to me you don't realise how hard it is keeping something in the system when your trying to support there own games, it's alot more money, if you want to play ps2 games either download them or buy a ps2,
as for changing things, i'd deffiantly like a faster and more stable internet browser, i mean it doesn't show even facebook properly at times some websites, don't even allow you to press buttons or search stuff, and i'd like them to put in firmware for watching video's on it, as ign's video's don't work properly for me or youtube hardly works.
i'd like faster internet, i've got a very fast internet connection, and still get slow downloads, and like many others this whole download and install stuff is a nightmare i mean a game put onto a pc doesn't take aslong as trying to install a game onto the hdd, even tho you've just spent hours downloading it.
i'd defiantly like a new interface quite bored with the main one but it isn't that bad and it does wat i want.
i'd like to have a better way of seeing messages while i'm in game more of a side board so i know when messages come up, and i'd like in game chat,
