Buy a 1080p component to VGA adapter at x2vga.com

Works for me. I've got PS3 running 1080p on a giant 22" CRT monitor I got for cheap. Less than $200 for 1080p.

no buy a hdmi to dvi cable if your monoitor has a dvi connection so that way it stays a digital signal, here's a link: "http://www.mycablemart.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=409" you can buy a cheap one, it doesnt matter, that's what i do and it looks great

Well, most of the current monitors have DVI option so you can get an HDMI to DVI conector and play it like that, at least thats what I do.

That was the first thing I tried and it didn't work for me. Monitor I was testing on might not have had 720p resolution though. If you're trying to use a giant CRT like I was and you need a VGA connection then get the component adapter. Picture looks great with this adapter so either way you're fine.

it depends whether your ps3 offers 1920 x 1080p but at those screen size which your talking about you will be fine at 720p which will also look excellent. Believe me i own a 37" 1080p sharp aquos and the different at those screen sizes is noticeable but probably not worth the few grand extra. Just stick with 720p which is 1280 x 720p.

You can buy a cable so you can hook it up to your monitor, or if you have the right graphics card, you can run it through that.

id is just high resolutions.Every monitor with a resolution higher then 640 x 480 is technically hd considering its a higher definition then standard resolution. Just buy a cheap 17-19 inch wide screen monitor and they shall all support 720p.

okay here's what you need to find out.. if your monitor is HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) then use the hdmi to dvi so it's getting a digital signal with no loss. if your monitor is not hdcp then you will need to use an analog signal (like the component to vga) which isnt loss proof but over a short cable no much data loss will occur if any. if your monitor is 1080p (which is progressive 1920x1080 resolution) the it should be hdcp. if it's anything less like 1080i or 720p (which is interlaced 1920x1080 or progressive 1280x720) then it might not be hdcp so the digital signal wouldnt work. me personally, i think the digital signal looks a noticeable amount better. look up your monitor and find out what it's resolution is and if it's hdcp and if it even has a dvi connection.

It says that it supports HDCP, so I can only assume that the answer is yes. You will definately be able to play in 720p. The monitor is not large enough for 1080p. It only has a max resolutiion of 1440 x 900.

I just searched for them on newegg and the price ranges from 10 bucks to 100 dollars! Will I be ok if I buy the cheapest one and what makes the $99 one so good?

I don't see how the quality can improve, whether if its from a $10 cable or a $100 cable. They're both sending digital signals.

ok well....i got a laptop witha non-integrated video card (8600m GS) and its got ...

-Dual-link DVI outputs for digital flat panel display resolutions up to 2560x1600

-Integrated HDTV encoder provides analog TV-output (Component/Composite/S-Video) up to 1080i/1080p resolution
