Wow only 5 people have said that they have had a, what I'd call, bad experience. I think that a manufacture like Sony know's how to really making a dependable piece of hardware.
My PS3 purchase was so satisfying, I got home, just connected like 2 cables, and I was playing Motorstorm in 2 minutes I believe, I got home, threw off my shoes and was playing Motorstorm...it was just so nice...
No problems. Although it has frozen while on the web. Otherwise perfect. My old PS1 had no problems, I had to get 3 PS2s but the first one my brother spilt Coke on so that does not count and I have had to get 3 PSPs but the second one was free. It has been a rough ride with Sony but I really do not care because it is just a video game system and (not to be arrogant) I have to money.

Dude, what happened to all those consoles and PSPs? Why not sell them? Really need 3 PSPs at one time?
P.S. It's good to hear that there aren't any real outstanding issues. I love the fact that I was able to get my PS3 replaced for free (returned for manufacturer's defect in case). Sony makes them solid as a rock. Check out this video of some Japanese guys breaking down a new PS3. Make sure to watch around the 5:00 min mark for the gasp as they show everyone the freakin' HUGE fan.

Sony makes A pretty good penny bank... My 3 year old decided to put her change in it not knowing i played for several days... then when i moved it i heard the coins... It still worked.... Luckily i had a warranty and got it replaced for free... Then I put the Ps3 even higher where i need to get on my tippy toes to reach it =)...
