Since GS has decided to ask 360 owners the same question, I thought I would find out how those numbers stack up to PS3 owners results.

I marked "Yeah, but I got it replaced for free." Because the original PS3 bought had a manufacturer's defect on it's case. That was the only issue and since it didn't meet expectations I took it back to Best Buy and got a free replacement. You can read about my hilarious adventure on my blog.
Hey we are not retarded to put duct tape on the vent hehehe
funny story about a guy who care to much about hes ps3 he put duct tape on the vent holes to not get dust lol
goku234
LOL! i read that too. great love story about a man who kills his PS3. for the sake of not losing it to the horrible villian Dr. Dust
in theory if every playstation 3 owner did this poll, less than one percent should say yes
according to this
You think my PS3 would actually break? I take care of my consoles and I don't treat them like garbage like some people:roll:

ppff. I treat my PS3 in the same regards as you do. And unfortunatly my first PS3 had a disk drive malfunction. Its not always how you "treat" it.

I'd make some comment about sticking appendages that don't belong in the disk drive... but I've been reprimanded enough this month. The PS3 is build like a rock!

The PS3 is built like all new 'tech' theres bound to be some malfunctions in the bunch. Even the best new tech is bound to have a few bunk units out of the millions sold. :lol:Im pretty sure the PS3 is slightly more complex than a rock:lol:

I get your joke. Did you get mine?
Also im confused as to why the survey has the response "like sony would put out a console that would fail."
As much as the PS2 was my favorite system, it obviously had some problems with failure. Don't get me wrong Sony is a great company and has met and exceeded my needs as a consumer. But they do have a track record of some hardware failures.

Not really, it seemed as though you were insinuating my sticking unsaid appendages in my PS3 is why it broke? Then maybe the bob seagar/chevy line was the joke? I guess I didnt get the joke?
Works perfectly, only problem I ever had was picking the SOB up and putting it in place, I didn't want to get my fingers on it.
Oh, and I bet the two people who have voted for "yeah, twice" are either xbots or joking.

That was both a tie-in to the original Gamespot survey and to make a point. I have had a PS2 for well five years now. It has not once failed. I have only ever had to restart it. Killzone froze quite a lot to tell you the truth. But I think it was a server thing and not the PS2. I would only freeze while loading a level.
Fail is such a strong word to use for a system that just came out not even a year ago.
Has it let me down? (No. I mean you can't expect a system to launch with hot titles right away. It needs time and that time is fall)
Has it done anything major like overheat? (No)
Has it done anything light such as freeze? (Yes. Twice to be exact)
All in all the PS3 has not failed me. I may be bored with it at times, but it hasn't failed me. If it failed me then that would mean I faoled since I waited 4 days for a $600 + system just for it to fail me.

My PS3 has not failed me once.
I had a PS2 since it was released in my country, and that was a reliable system as well. Believe me, I played the hell out of it, and it kept up with me all these years.
I expectthe PS3 will prove even more reliable:D
