So I was wondering this the other day.

Has a game ever made you cry? Has a game touched you so much emotionally, that you actually had tears streaming down your face?

I think its something hard to do, and something that barely ever happens. The only game i ever cared about on an 'emotional' level and that made me cry was Heavy Rain. That game played with my emotions like no other game has ever done.

I think Heavy Rain plays with human emotion (better than any other game out there)and thats why it makes it great.

So, has a video game ever made you cry or get really emotional?

Shadow of the Colossus came close. Im not a person who cries, so I probably dot accurately represent the population. Other game moments have made me angry, scared or happy much more so.

Yeah there have been game's that have made me cry: Ocarina of Time, MGS3, Killer 7, FFX, Persona 3.

You just get so attached to the people you meet in games you can't help to develop a bond with them :)

FFX, MGS4 i think i did shed a tear, MGS3, Tales of the Abyss and God of War 3. The characters were amazing and the player can get really attached to them, thats how games should be...(most of them)

MW2. The part where it crushed my expectations, took my money and laughed at me till the time I traded it in. It still laughes at me every time I go to Gamestop.

There was a spot in Heavenly Sword that got me choaked up for a second, MGS4 had its momments, SoC had me close...but I don't think I've ever actually shed a tear in a game...yet.

I was pretty close. I don't know what it was, but I was pretty freakn' sad when I *thought* Raiden died in MGS4. I didn't cry, but I felt like I just lost a friend. Yeesh:? It came out of no where and did not expect that at all. I guess it's probably because MGS2 SOL was when I actually REALLY got into Metal Gear and of coarse, it stars Raiden.

As far as anything else goes. The only thing that has made me sad was Final Fantasy 7 when Aries died. Not because she died, it was the freakn' music that kinda got me a little. I didn't care about the actual character.

I think it's the music that plays the most emotional part. Even in the beginning of Metal Gear Solid 4, that beginning song was so sad. Like "the world is close to death". Yet it's called "Love Theme".

I like the MW2 gag, that was great! But yes, "Beyond Good & Evil" on the last-gen was a game that I connected to on an emotional level... which is the first and only time it's happened, really, but it was powerful. I have that game on three different consoles as a result and have played through it NUMEROUS times. I suggest that game for anyone who considers themselves a serious and well-rounded gamer. It's like "Metroid Prime" or "Bioshock" - A Perfect Storm of gaming.

Heavy Rain got close at 1 part.. the one with the line "I'm a father too..BANG!" Heavenly Sword also was close but no dice.. but so far on PS3 the only game that has actually had me shed a tear was MGS4.. right before the credits... I cried like a baby at FF13.. *cries* when the hell will this game begin!! i'm 30 hours in and all i've done is run forward.. WHY IS THIS TUTORIAL SO FREAKIN LONG!!! Ps2 had a few that made me cry.. FFX, Persona 3, MGS3 and SotC to name some.. and idk about older systems... I can't really think of anything right now...

No, haven't cried. The interactivity in video games is enough to kind of turn off a lot of deeper emotional response, but if games were movies, MGS4 as well as Heavy Rain definitely would have made me have some sort of emotional reaction :)

I was hoping someone would mention Zelda: OoT. The ending nearly made me tear up. I was 13 years old then. So far, nothing yet.

My picks are kind of odd. I loved the first Uncharted, so I almost cried at the end of Uncharted 2 over what I THOUGHT happened. I teared up at the end of Bioshock (good ending) and a little at the end of Fallout 3 (father / son relationship type things get to me. See: Big Fish). I got a little choked up at the end of Batman: Arkham Asylum right after Batman's last line to the Joker.

So yeah. Basically, I'm a little girl.

I also teared up when I saw the trailer for The Last Guardian. :P
