If you leave your PS3 on 24/7 you have bigger problems to worry about, like overheating. And no, the "laser" can't get "weak." It either works or doesn't.

I've handled my copy of Resistance three times. I put it in when I first got my ps3 and then took it out to watch Talledega Nights. I put it in again when the movie was over and since then it has not left my ps3. I was playing Resistance last night and it froze during one of the movies between levels. I took the disc out and looked at the bottom and it had a few smudges on it. I know for a fact that it was not from my fingers because I know how to handle discs properly so my ps3 somehow marked up the disc. They aren't scratches though, so its not a big deal, but I don't know why my disc was getting marked up.

idk id could harm its interior. i spent 600+ on this thing and im not harming it on something stupid as leaving a disc in itelmetfano
Same here. (Although i have not spent the $600 yet as i live in Australia.)
