Buying InFamous?

Just reserved it at Gamestop and got the Demo Code slip for doing so, downloading it now. Had to get it after playing the demo the other night at a buddys house. Everyone who has access to Gamestop should reserve it just to get this demo. It's totally worth it.

It was kinda weird, I had to ask a few times before I got a "Yeah, you can actually get a Demo Slip for reserving". Almost like I kinda had to haggle with the guy just to get the slip. At first when I asked about it he said he didn't have any slips like that. Tthen he said "Lemme check", and came back with one and said "Oh yeah, we DO have those, and this is the LAST one I got." He also told my buddy that the other day too.

I'm gone. Download is done. Try it out. It's F'n RAD.

but im more interested in Prototype i wanna see how the both do on my scale.

The demo takes an hour to beat. This is one of the longest demos I've ever played. You don't even have to do the Missions. You can just roam about the city an F around with all the awesome powers at your disposal. Can't wait to play the full version!!!

And this game is like Spider Man 2 on crack.

I dont know where to buy it. Gamestop or playntrade. I really want the game AND the BETA. I'd be happy with just the game but would like the beta also. Anyone know if playntrade will have the speacil boxes? the people at the store don't know a thing. And the game looks GREAT! I just hope that they make some great trophies.

Yes variety or rather lack there of can be an Achilles heel for this (or any other game), but it seems like Sucker Punch wanted to make sure there is a lot of variety in the game, at least thats what one of the lead programmers from Sucker Punch wanted to get across in this interviewthat just went up on the PlayStation Blog. Seemed relevent so I just decided to post it here.

Personally can't wait til the 26th. The demo was a lot of fun.

It's because the few demo codes that the GameStops got in were supposed to be for the employees from Sony to try out the game, so they'd be familiar with it and could push its sales. Some of the GameStops have been using some of those codes to get preorders, even though they're not supposed to (their "pre-order goodie" is the Gigawatt Blades, which they don't get the codes for until the game actually comes out)- so you basically got lucky. 8)

The only stores that "officially" are giving out the early demo codes with all the pre-orders are Best Buy and Game Crazy - if you try a GameStop, you're pretty much rolling the dice.

Have my copy pre-ordered. :)

This was really the main review I was waiting to read, since I tend to pay more attention to IGN than just about any other reviewer. They're generally pretty tough - in fact, they often tend to nitpick a little too much - so a 9.2 from them is REALLY good. A 9.2 from IGN puts inFamous in the range of some of the best games on the PS3 - even Uncharted only got a 9.1.

Yes I Am, Ant The Fact That A Uncharted 2 Beta Comes With It Just Makes It More Worth Wild. I Really Want Cole To Be Able To Use The Lightning Blade like Kakashi, That Would Be A Great Move To Use

There are a few notable exceptions from IGN, yes (like GTA IV getting a 10 - much asI love it, it didn't deserve a 10), but usually their scores are pretty on the mark. The nitpicky stuff particularly come in on their individual category scores more than the overall score, like the fact that they dropped inFamous's sound score a little because they didn't like the main character's "gravelly voice". That gets a little ridiculous... but they're still probably the best reviewers on the Web. Just look at some of the other few games that they've given 9s to - for every Resistance 2, there's also 9s for LittleBigPlanet, MGS4, Uncharted; it's a reasonably exclusive club. It's not like they're freakin' Nintendo Power, giving high scores to anything that you can cram into a game slot ("Hey, this stalebagel chip fits in my Wii! 10/10!!!!" :D )

Yup - if you go to G4 and watch the clip "A Stroll Through Empire City", you can actually see Cole using what appears to be the Gigawatt Blades at about the :20 second mark. They look AWESOME.

I reserved inFamous and prototype together and I can't wait for them to come out.:)

IMO if game like MGS4 can go in platinum's list inFAMOUS can join the club too. also, games with high MP value and/or with constant DLCs don't loose value soon. InFAMOUS should see a price fall with time.

Paid my copy today (Well traded in Street Fighter IV and NHL 09) from Gamestop, got the special power ! Now i don't ussualy pre order game i haven't played, but IGN gave 9.2 it's very solid scoring. I just hope now i like the game :)

i'll look for the best deal after release, don't really care about the gigawatt blades.

already have a demo code thanks to sony computer entertainment australia giving me a free demo code in my emailz.
