Best PS3 Game Of All Time?

ive never played the other mgs games but when i played mgs4 i was amazed by eveything!!!!! it truly is one of the best games of all tiime.

same with me, but i rented it and it had to go back :( so i bought mgs 2 & 3! (cant find 1) so i can know the story. no 2 is hard due to the camera great game though.

I need to buy uncharted but i like my multiplayer so MGS4 :)

MGS4 unlocks arn't my thing ... or MGO ... or even the so called "complex" story

I havn't bought the game either, but i havn't played any of the previous MGS games. I have so many games to play as it is with several more i want to get (including MGS).

LMAO funny i played GTA4 last night and its been at least a month since i played because i moved in june 1st and have not played since but i was top in matches deathmatch GTA4 there was about 12 people playing. Auto aim was on but wow its been a month since i have played and im still killin em.

GTA4 and MGS4 I would have to say. But I love 80% of my PS3 games.

Well then, this is now a "must-buy" for me. The next game I'm getting, is this one. Wow, sounds awesome. I hear the ending is truly epic, lol.

It's true that most of the story will go over your head if you haven't played the previous games, but you'll still enjoy it, I'm sure. However, you REALLY should play the previous games first. Not only are they great, but if you play MGS4 without having played those, you'll miss out on some of the emotional weight of the story.

If you're not willing to play the old ones though, you should definitely brief yourself on the story in some way. There's wikipedia, obviously, but Gametrailers.com actually has a very good video retrospective of the series.

See, I was thinking about playing them, I'd like to. But say for example MGS1, wouldn't that be on PS2? I have a 40GB PS3, with no backwards compatability, and no PS2, so I'm not sure how I would play it. But I think it would be smart like you suggested for me to get filled in on the story. I'll check out Gametrailers right now.

How can you make the desision even though not all PS3 games have came out like GOW 3 ASRCSR

GOW3 might be a GREAT awesome game, but a game surpassing MGS4 unique awesomness has to be superior in all of MGS4 aspects from storyline, to cutscenes to graphics, to details, to weapons, to gameplay which won't likely happen anytime soon. Seriously, imagine a game surpassing MGS4 in every aspect MGS4 had to offer.

Best Game To Have Trophies: (The only tie) Uncharted or Burnout Paradise ( Burnout only because they will have retroactive trophies)

RPG: Civiliztions ( I know it's not an RPG, but it's the closest thing we have until Disgaea 3)

Best story mode- Mgs4

Best Online game- Warhawk

Best ps3 exclusive- Mgs4

Best upcoming game- God of war 3 :D :D

Best co-op game- Army of two

Best fps game- Battlefield bad company, rainbow six v2, or call of duty 4 (either of those 3)

Best psn game- Pixel Monsters

Best racing game- Well my favorite is grid, but burnout paradise is really the best.

Best sports game- Mlb 08 the show ( by far even).

MGS1 is a PS1 game, so you can still play it on your 40gb. You really should at least play that one - I'd say it's referenced more than any other game in the series. Plus, it's pretty short, so it wouldn't take you long before getting to MGS4.
