Will you be getting Starcraft2?

So who all will be getting Starcraft2?
I personally cant wait!

Im not that big of a RTS fan, but Starcraft1 was one of the few RTS games I enjoyed palying online. But I did have the most fun with the campaigns of Starcraft1 and its expansion pack, so im definatly looking foward to the singleplayer of this.

Are you getting the game? Right away? Later on? Never?

Silly question. :P Preordered the Collectors Edition a while ago. Won't get to play it for a week though until I have finished my graphics assignment... :cry:

i never played starcraft. as a PC gamer this is clearly not acceptable. come the 27th i hope to have that problem corrected by....er...playing starcraft 2. close enough :P.osan0

No. I don't like RTS apart from Age of Empires (and Age of Mythology), and that's largely due to historical reasons.

I'll get sometime in mid-August. I have some business far from home and don't feel like buying it on launch day, playing for 3 days and stopping...

I might...not a fan of RTS games but i did enjoy the first game...and the modding tools sound like they are powerful and so maybe some cool mods will come out.Renevent42

Thats the thing! People already have been working on RPGS, racing games,etc.. just from the editor.

I cant wait to see what some people come up with in the future with this editor!

Yes its a real question, as you can see there are people already that are not getting it, some that are gettign it right away and others that will get it later.

Not everyone is getting this game, I was interested to see how many where gonna get it and how many not.

I pre-ordered it, but I'm horrible at RTS. Like, really bad. I am probably the worst RTS player ever, if you challenge me to CoH you might as well go afk because somehow I'll still lose.

Still, it'll be in the mail sooner or later. I was looking at some really cool mods, even a remake of Metal Slug in SC2, so hopefully there'll be some amazing stuff. Also my PC is falling behind, hope I can run it well, although it ran okay in beta.

I may or may not, i breezed through the first one + explansion in about a week and, besides the editor, i had no real intrest with game overall. i dont really think the second game i sgoing to live up to expectations and even if it does im probably not going to be playing it any time soon.

To say this game lacks a ton of content wouldn't exactly make sense considering the scale of the SP campaign and the 3 armies avaiable for skirmish/multiplayer and the map editor that is included.the_ChEeSe_mAn2

not getting this. Loved Starcraft and Diablo 1 and 2. but this game isnt from what Blizzard that i knew of 90's.

For those who never tried Starcraft 1 and are not sure if they want to buy Starcraft 2 because you don't really know much about SC 1, I played the beta of Starcraft 2 because my cousins got me a Cd-key. Before I've started to play the beta, I'd never played the first Starcraft and I'd only saw my friend playing one or two times. My only thoughts about this game were: "The graphics are horrible... not for me". I still tried the beta because this time, the graphics are pretty damn good. I've always loved RTS such as Red Alert 2, AoE 2-3, C&C 3, recently in WH 40k: DoW 2 and so on, but the Starcraft universe was all new to me.

People, buy this game. Starcraft 2 is going to be amazing. When the first phase of the beta of SC 2 was closed, I decided to give a shot to SC 1 and I didn't like it at all! Once you've played a recent RTS, it is hard to come back to an old RTS such as SC 1 because the graphics are pretty old and the gameplay is SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. But Starcraft 2 plays 100x better and looks 1000x better. So even if you didn't like the 1st Starcraft or didn't know or play it, it doesn't matter because SC 2 is a totally different experience and it is way better (imo). I can't tell about the Single Player campaign but the story seems very well written and presented with nice cinematics, but the multiplayer was a lot of fun!

BTW, to stay in the topic, I got it pre-ordered and I can't wait to play it! I can't wait to see what kind of mods we will have! (This Final fantasy thing looks cool! I hope it won't be a simple tease!)

What I mean by slow, is that it takes forever to build a building, to produce units, to move units around. Compared to SC 2, it is slow. (Take note that I've played SC 1 after playing the beta of SC 2... it is normal that I don't have the same feeling about SC 1 compared to the majority).

Pre-purchased it as soon as Gamestop would allow and have the 28th off from work so I can just lose myself in it!

Im pretty bad to haha, but its still good fun as I do well in the singleplayer and still have fun in the online even though i get whooped most the time :P

Hmm, nah dont think so. Only Blizzard games I've ever really liked are the Diablo games. Warcraft was ok and I like starcraft, just never loved them. I may get it if my brother buys it also.

No, it doesn't have enough mindless shooting and destruction. And RTS is too complicated of a genre for idiots such as myself to comprehend.

I will certainly get it but not as soon as id like to. The polish publisher has put an absurd price on the game.

I'll buy Starcraft II day one, the original Starcraft is my second favorite "best rts of all times" and the campaign was excellent. But I'm not sure about the "expansions", it will depend on how good the Starcraft II campaign ill be and the price tags.

I wonder how much of the people that ITT complain about SC2's launch price (not talking about regional inflations) have thought of the game's value.

I also wonder how many of them I will see hyping games that retail at 10$ cheaper yet can offer one thousandth of what SC2 does.
