any lcd ive ever seen, and ive seen a lot, looks blurry, not only from the sides, but you can see their pannel and the texture of the lcd screen which i like. now adays, lcd has better color, but still seems blurry to me. as opposed to crt, its like looking thru clear glass. heavy, pain to move around, but cheaper, and in my opinion clearer, unless ive jsut never seen a nice lcd monitor, i used to have one...

21" crt, it's bigger than the sun

running games at 1600x1200 is starting to strain my graphics card, so i'm gonna get a smaller monitor (i was thinking 17) with my next gpu upgrade, it'll last longer

I was a long time CRT loyalist, finally broke down and bought a ViewSonic VP930b. I'm limited to a max resolution of 1280x1024 and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. It definately has some pixel lag that CRTs never had.

But, one thing I never thought about til I got this monitor is blacks. On a CRT you never get a true black basis for your screens. You can try to balance it for when you first turn your computer/monitor on or for when you monitor warms up but you will never have an across the board good contrast balance. With an LCD blacks are blacks and colors are sweeter and richer. I'll trade that any day for higher resolution and faster pixel refresh.

In my knowledge, for a CRT, at lower refresh rate it produces screen flicker. Which gonna strain your eyes at long usage. So at higher refresh rate, 70Hz or more, it produces less flicker and better for the eyes. LCD doesn't have screen flicker. Which means you don't have to worry about lower refresh rates. You got to focus on pixel-response rate. 8 to 12 ms is nice for games. 4ms even better. And a DVI connector. I think the pixel lag that you're talking about might be the pixel-response rate. It'll produce shadows or trails of the object for fast moving games like fps or racing games.

24" Widescreen flat panel (Dell 2407FWP). Received it two weeks ago, many modern games suppport widescreen settings. Running in 1900x1200. Colors are looking wonderful, contrast and brigthness are very good, no noticeable ghosting. Before this screen I had a 19" CRT (Dell M991).

Samsung 225BW here, I love it.  The contrast ratio is a HUGE improvement over my old 17" BenQ LCD, and as such, the blacks are much better.  Very nice and crisp text and everything too.
