Sorry if this isn't the right place, but I don't know where else to put it.

I just built myself a new gaming computer (nvidia 560 ti, intel core i5, asus mobo, the works) and it works just fine for games like Section 8 Predjudice, CSS, and RSV2, but when I play COD4 or GRAW, the framerate drops to nigh-unplayable levels. I have the latest drivers. Nothing else is running in the background. What could possibly be going wrong?

(Also, another question- do you think that this thing could run Bad Company 2 on high at 60 frames? Because from my experience, it hasn't been perfect.)

Thanks.

check if your pc is actually using your 560ti and not your intel graphics.

and the 560ti is more than enough to max bfbc2

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how would I do that?

EDIT: I tried disabling the Intel onboard graphics, but I still get about the same framerates. WHAT IS GOING ON? Is there some magical setting that will fully unlock the true potential of my computer, or am I just doomed to think of what could have been? It's really dissapointing, too- I was expecting this to run like you said it would, and yet, it did not. :(

I built the computer from scratch, the 560ti was the only graphics card I ever put in.

I already have. I can triple-check once I get home, but I'm pretty sure I have the latest.

Would the card itself still work if I only had one pci-e plugged in? Because I disabled the onboard Intel graphics, so it had nowhere else to turn, and yet it still worked.

I'll check when I get home either way.

But the main problem still remains- why is it running fine for games like Section 8 but running miserably for lower-fidelity games like COD4 and GRAW?

EDIT: It's not all lower-fidelity games, just the two I mentioned (so far).

Since nobody has asked yet, what kind of PSU do you have?

Did you patch the games up competely, I know COD4 performed underpar until you patch it up, then it performs solid 60fps.

It's fully patched (I have it on Steam), and there should be no power deficiency- my PSU is sufficient.

Pretty dumb question...but do you have the monitor connected onto the graphics card? not the motherboard, directly onto the graphics card.

Yeah. I disabled the onboard graphics so the 560 would be the only output (just in case it was using the onboard in the first place).

Run MSI afterburner in the background and play a bit. Then alt-tab out. Afterburner should show gpu usage as a graph.

Is it at 100% (or above 90)?

I checked, and I have everything connected properly.

Seriously. This is starting to get ridiculous. I'm not getting my money's worth out of this thing.
