woah probably the best story in a video game and you regret playing it?
 Don't make me laugh. Oh well, you already did.World Of Warcraft.
i bought it at 2006 (i think) and played it the first 7-8 months, first many hours per day and then only a few hours per day.
then i read so many horror stories about the game's victims and MMO's victims in general, then i SAW this horror with my own eyes LOL (my girlfriend got into WoW because of me and then the horror begun) !! since then i played it 10-15 hours in 2007, 5-6 hours in 2008 and 0 hours in 2009 till now lol. my account is frozen for almost 10-12 months.
of course i never bought the expansions but my girlfriend is still a WoW victim, not at the same awful level like before, she's in much better condition now.
well yea, i really really regret bying WoW :P
I guess I can also mention Star Wars Force Commander. Other than the command point system you used to get reinforcements the game was pretty bad, I didn't even finish the single player campaign. Also what the hell were they thinking mixing techno and rock into the Star Wars music?
Bet on a Soldier
Worst game ever bought and I stupidly paid full price for this monumental turd via pre-order from gamestop.
Soldier of Fortune: Payback
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
World Of Warcraft.

something tells me you could find a game that you got less than 7 months of entertainment out of

 Don't make me laugh. Oh well, you already did.Hehe, yeah, the story/writing/characters are probably the things I disliked most about Mass Effect.
It was all just so...uninspired, and borrowed far too heavily from Bioware's previous games (*cough*NWN*cough*).
As for mine, Oblivion, easily. I actually lent my copy to a friend over a year ago, and I don't intend to ask him to return it.

But even if the story was unoriginal, does that really make it bad? I enjoyed Mass Effect not necessarily because of a profound story 'on paper', but because of the cinematic quality of its presentation and realistic character interaction. Don't make me laugh. Oh, don't get me wrong, I loved the presentation, but the story isn't exactly "the best story in a video game", like that other poster said.
Red Orchestra.
I bought it on a steam sale a while ago for $5 USD but it has absolutely no aussie players or servers which sucks, i can imagine it wouldn't be half bad with a populated, lag-free server.

I know what you mean, I've that game for a year, NEVER EVER met an aussie player. Been playing on unplayable american servers for like a week, that was IT. Though I did buy it during a sale, so it wasn't that bad....
[QUOTE="bogaty"]Half-Life 2, are you cooked?Call of Duty 2
Half Life 2
Master of Orion III
Star Wars: Rebellion
Homeworld (First game I ever bought that I stopped playing within an hour.)

I dislike Steam as it means I cannot sell on or trade in games I no longer want. Half Life 2 was, in my opinion, a by-the-numbers shooter with nothing to recommend it other than a new graphics engine (which didn't hold a candle to Far Cry at the time). It wasn't a terrible game, but after playing through it once, I had no interest at ever looking at it again.
Speaking of dull games with nothing other than a graphics engine to make them stand out, I really should add Morrowind to my list.
Without question: GTA IV.
When the announcement of the game was set to release back in November 2008 I was extremely excited. San Andreas was well optimized, which put the X-Box version to complete shame. It was a no brainer to me that Rockstar will release a great pc port that will make the 360 version look Last Generation.
Wow, was I dead wrong.
First it was the delay til December, which didn't bother me. But, I finally got the game, and I had to go through the trouble of installing two on-line accounts(one account had trouble accepting my CD Key), that alone frustrated me for a hour or two. Then the game itself had constant drops in frame rates even though my computer exceeds the recommended requirements. After two patches later, the game still looks disappointing.
Granted, I'm fairly new to the PC gaming world, so I'm not very familiar with DX9 or DX10, but if I can play Crysis, Assassins Creed and the 2k9 sports games that two me, looks much better graphically by default, then why not GTA IV. I managed to set the game in high settings, yet it still pales in comparison to any of the Current Gen Consoles, as far as no rigid lines outlining the textures. I believe there is a solution for this called Anti aliasing. For Public Relations to call this boated piece of crap "future ready" is ridiculous and hilarious at the same time.
Bottom line is I purchased the game at $50 and to this very moment I feel like I've been ripped off.
..............Forgive me for the rant.

Best list here. You'd think the dude would learn after 3... maybe 4.
I like how some people say "WoW, after playing it for 2 years I stopped and regret it...", hey, if u got 1-2 years of enjoyment out of it....it DID IT"S JOB. No game will last forever, all games get boring...some come back later on cause u feel like playing them again.FelipeInsideLol...that always gets me too.
Prince of Persia 4. £35 on that game...£35!!!!!!!!! I could have bought 2 excellent games for that, yet I got one sub-par piece ofpoo with a dreadful ending and rubbish gameplay.
World of Warcraft... I had a fair character and i was having fun when all of the sudden WotLK comes out, and my lappy cant handle the freaking game! what a waste of around $100 (I didn't get to play for all that long).ciannixSo u regret buying a game which YOUR PC can't handle....???
