Hello guys, I'm a fellow gamer in need of your help. I have played (mostly) every big title that has come out in the past 8 years or so, meaning that I have played all the games that can be found in "Top 10 Stories In Games" lists. Witcher, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, Borderlands, Stalker, Fable: Lost chapters and III, The Last Of Us, Heavy Rain (I know this isn't a console forum but they were to good to leave out), RAGE, Dishonored, Half Life, Portal, Metro,AC, GTA, Spec Ops: The Line. The Walking dead,Life Is Strange, Game of thrones (By TellTale), Bastion etc. Some indies as well, including The Stanley Parable,To The Moon (which might as well be my favourite story in a game along with spec ops), Kentucky Route Zero etc. As for The old titles, I can't really get immersed in games like The Longest Journey (the only drawback is that it's old and the stimuli for enjoyment then were different than what I have been used to enjoying these years), though I have played some of them, Planescape Torment for example. Basically, whenever I read somewhere that "this game has a great story", I played it.

Do you have ANY suggestions as to what game I should play next? I really love a good emotional story with twists( or not), and ,judging by the To The Moon, I don't care that much about the gameplay.

Thanks in advance :)

@the_funyarinpa: Yeah forgot to mention it, I have played Deus Ex and probably all the major titles that were good enough to be recognised. MGS intrigues me, but how about something that is already oute? ^_^

Yay, another opportunity to recommend "The Cat Lady"

Awesome story

Also try pebumbra overture and pebumbra black plague the story is really good and peaks in black plague.

Amnesia dark descent and machine for pigs, made by same developer similar gameplay both tell really engaging stories.

All games are somewhat horror games

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I played most of these games, but some really caught my eye. Enslaved, The Cat Lady, Vampire Masquerade, Dead Space (loved 1 and 2, 3 was kinda boring, will give it another try),Ori and the Blind Forest, and the ones that I mentioned above. Really love the games like Brothers: A tale of two sons, were the gameplay is simple and the story is really touching. Ori and the blind forest seems like that kind of game. If there's anything else like these, I would love to play it!

@Adesp0tos13: yeah I recommend cat lady a lot, one of my favorite stories in a game ever.

Pebumbra is really immersive once you get into it, you really want to know what the hell is going on so much mystery.

It's not been mentioned yet, but what about Dear Esther? It's less of a game and more of an interactive novella. As such, it's driven entirely by the story. You could also try Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs which is by the same developer (The Chinese Room). It's not as celebrated as Amnesia: The Dark Descent, but it definitely has an interesting story.
