Anyone know of any "mod-tastic" games out there? Cuz some games have an unimaginable amout of mods, and some games don't even have 1 mod out for it. Not even a map pack or something.

I'd say the most moddable games I've played are...

Total Annihalation - Lord oh lord were there so many mods for this thing, I actually think they are STILL making mods for it.

Oblivion - Crapload of them, definetly kept you interested in playing the thing lol.

Dawn of War - Wanted a new race without waiting for the next expansion? Probably a mod out there somewhere.

Supreme Commander - Well, this is pretty much the next installment of total annihilation, makes sense...

Half-Life: I've played so many games, that I didn't even know where mods of HL till someone mentioned it.. Like "Firearms" and "Insurgency".

any other insanely customizeable games out there that you know of?

Oh yes. Throughout most of my life I've played some form of Doom. Most of the time it was Doom II and usually only Doom II. Only now, nearly 14 years after the game was first released am I finally getting involved with the mod/wad community (I believe I started playing Doom II in late 1994). I am branching out and trying different wad packs and some mods as suggested by a couple other GS users here (most specifically ZDoom... oh ZDoom, where were you a few years ago when I was stuck playing Doom with keyboard only? *sigh*).

Ever since I've become involved with downloading new user made content for Doom/Doom II it has floored me to see the vast array of things available. Not just in custom maps but custom content. It is amazing how a game that came out in 1993 is still one of the most amazing shooters ever made. It hasn't really aged a day... it is just so timeless... and all these mods/wads just make it playable infinitely.

Crysis is gonna get a lot :)

Operation Flashpoint, though, I think had the most....hundrends of everykind of mod you can think of...I am confident there are also over 100,000 user maps for it easy...since the game came with such great mission creation tools.

I think there's a mod where it took the ****c doom games and basically put it in the new iD engine. Here's a link. (odd how that word is censored..I wonder why it does that?)

-Quake series (Countless maps and mods to choose from!) -Unreal series (Anyone remember the Make Something Unreal contest?) -Half-Life series (If it wasn't for Half-Life, we may not have had a Counter-Strike, and perhaps we would not have a Garry's Mod, either.) -Operation Flashpoint (Making missions for this game is quite addicting!) -The Elder Scrolls III and IV (Maybe Morrowind and especially Oblivion aren't all that great out of the box, but they do become quite spectacular when you throw some mods in!) I also expect to see Crysis with the likes of those within a year-that Sandbox Editor seems to be easy-to-use, yet quite powerful. And, of course, everyone wants to make mods on the most advanced game engine yet!

The half-life series is the most modded series I have seen. Valve definetly helps the modders a lot with all the tools they released.

As some previous users have said, Operation Flashpoint and it's newer cousin, Armed Assault are extremely moddable games. It is possible to create new maps, units, missions, the whole shebang!

Then I'd say Quake and Unreal games. Remember UT2k4? Soooo many cool mods.

I'd say Neverwinter Nights, but I don't know if that really counts as moddable. Since you don't really modify that much, you create. :P
NWN would definatly win easily in the "which game has the most and best user made content"

Yeah, another game that has tons of Mods. Though I am not a fan of the engine, so don't even want to bother with most mods.
