Overall I'd say BRINK. Red Orchestra 2 is a close second...but I heard they at least cleaned it up since release and the modding community will revive it eventually.

DNF for sure. I boufht rage on launch day and was annoyed early on with all the texture issues. I also just got bored with it. I should give that another chance but so far i am pretty dissapointed with that one as well.

Most disappointing? Dragon Age 2.

Other runner-ups include Rage and Crysis 2.

Crysis 2 & Dragon Age 2.

Those are the two games that I anticipated/expected to be good, but ended up dissapointing me.

Crysis 2. Too much Call of Duty and not enough Crysis in there.

Rage, was very sad when I saw how bad the game was, plus the PC version was a horrible port...

BF3 is also on the list,EA made too many dumb decisions that turned me away from buying the game completely(Origin spyware,browser-based menus, switching from PC to console as a main development platform in the middle of production, etc)

BF3, Brink and Crysis 2. Brink was the worst but was the one I expected the least from, so probably BF3 was the biggest dissapoint followed by Crysis 2.

I'm more of a RPG player, so it has to be DA2. They got rid of all the stuff that made it a great PC game, and even on console it wasn't all that good. I thought Bioware might fix it up with a lot of patches, but they pretty much abandoned it after release. Sure, they released a few DLC but almostno patches for the base game.

MW3, not much to say, SP was short, game feels too old, and a developer that asks users to upvote their product because its metacritic score was horrible is pathetic. Crysis 2, not because the game was bad, but the incredible lack of patching and support.

Almost no patches? So you didn't see 1.01, 1.02, or 1.03? I went and checked on Impulse, which has patch history, and those three patches fixed a ton of things.

With Duke Nukem 3d being one of the first games i've ever played. i was very disappointed with Duke Nukem Forever but still played it . It was like watching your child develop into a complete failure but still trying to love them.

Hard to say as disappointment is an emotional response, but the following games are far inferior to what I had imagined they would be: 1. Skyrim because the combat and movement still feel like they're on a grid like Wolfenstein 3D much like previous ES titles, and even the fluff lacks polish. 2. Battlefield 3 because the netcode somehow is much worse than the mediocre netcode we had with BC2, not to mention the visual upgrade isn't that great, and too much focus on gimmicks unlike with pre BC1 titles where DICE at least attempted to care for game design after the shift of focus to the casual/console market and it's probably the most broken MP in an AAA title I've seen in a long time. 3. Need For Speed: The Run because it followed up from a strong game in the series, and yet somehow managed to completely screw things up. 4. Total War: Shogun 2 because while it is quite impressive on a technical level, the gameplay itself doesn't surpass Rome and Medieval II. 5. Dungeon Siege III for basically the same issues as Skyrim except the combat isn't that bad, however the game is shallow and doesn't do justice to the franchise. 6. Space Marine since while the SP is quite good albeit a bit brain dead, the MP map design is awful and the weapon stats were not carefully chosen, I was hoping for a game that would surpass my MP experience on Gears while being similar, although I do appreciate the extensive customization. 7. Nuclear Dawn because it still feels like a Half Life mod, that isn't to say that it isn't good, but I was somehow hoping for more, and again, a little too unpolished. 8. Payday: The Heist, great COOP game but I was hoping for more missions, if it had that I think it would've lived up to my expectations. 9. Stronghold 3, sure the new game engine is nice but the game itself is a downgrade gameplay wise, and for RTS I especially disregard graphics. There are quite a few more but these are the ones that come to mind most immediately.

Rage and Red Faction: Armageddon.

BF 3 is in its current state worse than BC 2, but I still have faint hope it will be fixed.

I come from a background of playing SWG, EVE, and Ultima Online. Those are the only mmo's that could capture my attention. I prefer a sandbox experience--freedom, complexity, custimizability, player created content. TOR just seemed like more of the same kind of themepark MMO that I have seen again and again. My love of star wars wasn't enough to make me love that game. I found completing the missions and listening to the dialog tedious. I wanted to skip through it all.

To put it bluntly: too simplistic.

Its a preference thing. I understand why they made it the way they did--its just not for me, but being a huge fan of Star Wars I was disappointed. It would be my #1 disappointment except for the fact that I found DA2 to be so abysmally bad that it earned my #1 slot.

No I got to level 20 ish I think. I don't need to go further. My problem with it isn't a level thing; its from the ground up.

I'd have to say BF3 from what I've heard from my friends. I'm so glad that I didn't fall for their peer pressure. I didn't care for the beta, but they all bought it when they came out, they played it for about a week, but have yet to touch it since.

I was disappointed with BF3 but probably because my expectations were too high.

After playing it some more and thinking about it, I consider it the best online shooter in existence--in spite of its flaws and what it could have been.

Well, I've heard there's lots of technical issues (bugs, hit detection, performance) in BF3. Not saying MW3 doesn't have any but a lot less. But apart from the technical viewpoint, I just find CoD more fun most of the time. (as do many other people). Still, it is VERY hard to compare these two cause they play completely differently.

I have experienced some of the problems with BF3. The game would crash while switching maps. It was fixed with the last update. There are little issues that annoy me. I havent had the issues with hit detection like I had with BC2. The game seems to perform well enough on a ATI 4890 which is a couple of years old ($200 when I bought it July 2009). Even if COD is more polished, I still prefer BF3. I like COD, but I prefer BF3. There is just so much more going on--tanks, jets, choppers, all of the bells and whistles, huge maps.

COD is nice for when you have small chunks of time. You can sit down, play a few rounds and rank up. BF3 is great for when you have hours of free time and can squad up with your friends and win a huge battle.

Ive been playing RO2 lately. That game is a mess but there is something about it. It has a lot of potential even though it was released as a disaster. The modding community could turn that into the best fps alive.

COD fails for the simple reason of kill streaks. Most of the time you're not doing the killing but instead it's a helicoptor 100 feet in the air. It's a good game for consolities who can't aim properly on a gamepad but it's a terrible PC FPS.

So when you play BF3 in a helicopter, it isn't you either doing the killing?

Oh, that's why there are professional tournaments on PC?

I don't play BF. But I assume in BF it's a player controlling the movement of the helicoptor and not the cpu. MW you simply point and click whilst the cpu rotates around the map, and it's very easy to get kills. Also some of the air support you don't even have to aim.

And also there's tournaments for loads of crappy games. Doesn't really mean anything except those games are popular and score a high amount of viewers.
