just played COD world at war on PC. better than battlefield 1 imo

ok...so world at war was one of the only COD's i didnt own on PC. i never liked it on the wii so i had a bad impression of it.

however its on sale right now for 9$. so i said what the hay. OMG...
I had cod 4 and i hate it on PC. 30-60 man lobbies...its nothing but ridiculous kill grinder.

when i installed world at war i saw it was the same 30 man 60 man lobby thing. However, this game is amazing like that. it feels like your in a real war and the maps are designed for huge lobbies. COD4 maps were tailor made for 6v6 imo. they dont work on big lobbies.

I havnt bought battlefield 1 yet but now its way easier to say no or wait till its 10$ :P

Ah I remember WaW. I really liked the game and actually like the Russia part of the campaign (the pacific portion wasn't as entertaining). I got the game free with my 8800GTS purchase but alas I've lost the disc or I'd try it out again.

World at Wars gameplay feels dated. Battlefield 1s gameplay just feels good.

@KBFloYd: I have played the open beta and that's count as a demo because not all maps are available. World at War was a crap of a CoD game, a sad try to give us a taste of the old original CoD game, the game launched with bad graphics - and by bad I mean out of it's time standards - it was also boring one - they basically did copy paste of Modern Warfrare into WW2 theme.

I think you should try BF1 before stating it's worse then World at War, it's not perfect as BF4 was but it's gets there for originality or an afford to do it.

i was playing WAW in 4k 60fps everything on max...AA off (AA blurs the image)

and it looks great imo.... very eye pleasing actually. its no BF1 but still ahead of its time now that we can run it in 4k60.

also...when you get blown up by a mortar strike you can get cut in half or your leg blown off. i never seen that in any other COD. that wasnt in the console version was it?

did you play it on PC? or console?

Played it on PC numerous times.

Last time was not too long ago. I love World at War, but Battlefield 1 is simply better.

World at War is really gritty though, I like that too :)

World at War got overall 7.5 score from gamers.

Graphics aside, it was a poor way for Activision to make small cach by making a WWII themed Modern Warfare game.

BF1 isn't different when they try to make a BF4 gameplay themed WWI game but then again you can control some sweet WWI vehicles and weapons.

the fact that you even posted this to back up your claim is very telling.

World at War had great graphics for the time, and the game itself is great (campaign, I never tried multiplayer).

Saying that, BF1 is amazing in the multiplayer aspect (campaign is ok)

i played a little more WAW today.

was going fine until i got to the map "dome" this is the first clusterf**k map ive run into. nothing but a shredder. this is what most of the cod4 maps are like and thats why i dont like cod4 on pc with 30 players.

however its just one map. all the others are great for big battles.

i noticed another thing about the game. the voice of the announcer and the music reminds me a hell of a lot of stanley kubrick's full metal jacket. like, the announcer sounds like the drill sargeant. the music sounds like the last part of the movie when they are at war.

CoD WaW is my favorite of all CoDs released after CoD2. It's not as crap as the other ones.
