Unfortunately, I came across that literally almost every game installed on my PC are violent focused titles, with the exception of few of course(Need For Speed games, Audiosurf and The Sims to name a few.).

How violent are we talking here? Like The Sims violent, or Call of Duty violent?

All of my currently installed games are FPS and RTS with a couple of RPGs, so yeah, I'd say a good amount of my games are. Though, it does depend on how violent we're talking about.

If it includes Violence on the ESRB content rating.

So how does this poll work? You've asked a question that can't be answered with a Yes or a No. Do I have a greater number of violent games or less installed on my PC? I have more violent games, so the answer is MORE... is that a yes or a no? :P

Cell? it is not a question you needed to even type a response for. simply make a choice at the top of the page and vote. Was this too difficult??

Before the poll was edited it was a YES or NO answer. Now if you can answer yes or no to a question that reads "Do You Have a Greater Number of Violent Games Or Less Installed On Your PC?" more power to you.

Why is it unfortunately? Are you one of those people who think violent video games are bad for society?

Many years ago my game collection were majority less violent then they are today. Though I'm not against violent titles, I am however skeptical quite a bit with the change over the years. That or the fact that I now own an arsenal amount of FPS.

I live in a country that doesn't use the ESRB for ratings so what constitutes as violence? Super Mario jumping on a goombas head could be considered violent

ٌWell, let's see. I have fallout 2 with bloody mess{yeah, I melt down people with plasma}, and stalker: clear sky that is bloody sometimes. and there is Deus ex that you can blow people with GEP gun and at the other side, I've got Starcraft that you can see blood pretty much in the game. and Diablo 2 with expansion too. and oblivion too. I usually burn people with magic. and NWN is installed on my computer and I play the role of a chaotic evil wizard that sometimes have the bad habit of burning peasents with a fully upgraded fire-ball.And dungeon siege 2 that you always blow creatures with fire, ice, hammer, even an arrow ! So I voted for #2.

I can count the games with no element of killing on one hand. That's what I'm talking about with creativity in big budget games being a little stagnant. Not that there aren't some great games out there, but I'd love to see investors taking a bit more of a risk with some more ambitious projects too.

Man, I would be scared if I was close to that guy and he was staring at me like that!

I'm trying to get away from violent games a bit.

As much as I enjoy violent games like Fallout 3, all it grim looks make feel somewhat disturbed when playing too much, especially if I feel stressed from work and other stuff.

Then I go and play non violent games like The Sims 3, Peggle and Plant Vs. Zombies. Plant Vs. Zombies isn't violent, is it? It includes zombies decapitation so I'm not sure.

I consider games like Portal in the exact middle of violence and more relaxed playing.

But then I become bored of non violent games and come back to play something with more action an gore, be it Call of Duty, Gears of War or Bioshock which ironically are good to relax from a hard day.

I think that the balance is the best thing. Play all types of games.

If Portal is considered violent, then 100% of the games installed on my PC is violent - not counting Chess/Solitaire etc... Weird - usually I'd have Simcity, some racing games and puzzle games installed - but I don't atm.

Most of my games on PC are FPS. And then there's Mass Effect, the Fallouts, Prototype... Come to think of it, I think the only non violent games I have are indie titles, like Crayon Physics, World of Goo and Audiosurf.

Well, most of the games I own are rated 18, 16+ or 15, so yeah, the majority have some kind of violence. Having said that, I don't mind blood and guts if it is in context with the game setting, but I don't actively seek out violent or gorey games.

Lots of violent games, I noticed this the other day when I couldn't understand why people enjoyed guitar hero / rock band / wii fit so much. Then I glanced across at my horror / violent game collection and thought that these people playing those games would probably think I have a violent streak and would stay away from me.

I have a bunch of racing games, Fifa 09, Transport Tycoon Deluxe, CitiesXL demo (surprised I don't have SimCity 4 installed) and, if you don't count TBS as violent, Civ4, Civ4:Colonization, and Alpha Centauri.

I think about half the games I have installed right now are shooters like L4D, Gears, Crysis, CoD4, BF2 etc. It's not my fav genre though so can't really explain it. And aside from some racing and puzzle games the rest are violent too even if they aren't pure shooters.

I think I'll say less, if only because I'm an adventure game fanboy playing on a new-ish PC.
