I dont get why people with quad cores and 2 8800 keep complaing about lousy performance. i have a dual core, and a 1 8800gtx and i get 40-45fps. Anyone else have good performance?

CORE2Duo E6600, 2 gig ram, 8800GTX. No problems with FPS in SP demo. Runs smooth.
Problem is i see some sort of shadows glitch. Hard to describe but when i turn direction shadows carry appearing where they shudnt.
All settings on high
1240/1050 res
8800gts 640mb
AMD 6000+ 3ghz dual core
2 gigs ram
on medium graphics i get 20-50fps.......I would have thought my computer would run it better then this..
Quad core and SLI are not supported in the demo.dahwnpapaya
And how many people have quad cores and SLI???

Don't know, and i'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say.
I can easily play this game at the lower res, but I want to get the full enjoyment out of it(this means maxxed settings at 1920x1200). Most people with high end rigs are used to the high resolution so I guess thats where they are complaining. I tried the high settings and the game looked beautiful, but it too choppy to be playable. At medium settings however it was "do-able". The folks at Crytek worked really hard on making this game, so I think it would be a shame to play it with medium settings with medium resolution.
Yes, I know some people say, "Its not the graphics that matter", but to me the graphics technology help to immerse the gamer into the experience. Plus its a first person shooter, so graphics do matter a great deal.
Oh just a note if you want the game to both look better and run better turn off the open gl. Just thought some people might have forgot to do that before they played the game. The opengl screws up the view distance like i mentioned before about the glowing plants.painguy1
how do you do that?
I'm running at the lowest widescreen resolution with the following setup:
Core 2 Duo 6600 @ 2.4ghz
2.0GB of RAM
GeForce 8800 GTX (768MB with PCI-Express x16)
My framerate is unplayable with high settings. Still looks pretty good with medium settings and I'm getting around 30fps.
I have no idea why it performs so badly for me. I'm pretty sure I have a great setup. UE3 runs at highest settings more smoothly than any game I've played on the PC so far. I do realize that Crysis engine is DOING more, but I'm just a bit depressed at the outcome.
For those who have vista and a dx10 graphic card, will the game on realease perform better since the demo was based on the direct x9 version?
Cause i'm pretty worried about my performance... close to unplayable on my x2 4200 +, vista, 3 gigs of ram, and 8800gts 320mb...
Same for me, I ran Cod 4 and ut3 beta maxed out with no problem and i'm struglling keeping this one in the medium to low settings... frustratingI'm running at the lowest widescreen resolution with the following setup:

I'm running a E4300 @ 3.0 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 8800 GTS (stock), andVista 32
Running high only on world texture and object texture with resolution of 1680 x 1050, the rest of the settings are a mix of medium and low. Running around 20s to mid 40s FPS average. I guess this is "OK" for me.
Wished it ran more smoothly like the UT3 demo, but then again, the world is so much larger and littered with plants and such. Still it'sa beautiful game.
whats a good way to find out the FPS? because im running at all high with no aa, shadows at low and it runs fairly well.mark286
Fraps
It's OK for me, I can live with it, I was getting typically between 40-60 fps @ 1280X1024 on medium (a couple of options set to high) with 8800GTS and the latest beta forceware drivers. Definitely wish it was better, I'd like to crank up the detail :P
Kick *** game though, don't think I've ever had more fun with a demo!

I have 2 8800GTX in SLi, an AMD FX-60 processor, and 2.5 gb of ram. At MAX settings, I'm getting around 12 fps. I'm using Vista 64-bit. Will the actual game run better, or do I have to turn down my graphics once the game is released?

Yeah I looked through every single part of the Catalyst control panel but did not see anywhere where it game me the option to turn off Open GL...
i have core 2 quad 6600, 2gb ram, 8800gts 640 mb. I get somewhere in the region of 28 - 32 fps in most areas running at 1280x1024, no aa, all settings on high except post-processing, water detail, and physics on very high, and shadows on medium. It never drops below 24 fps except when saving checkpoints, or when using fraps lol.
It looks stupidly nice, and its playable. Im hoping that by the full release, theyll have done more optimizing and nvidia will have better drivers out, so that the fps will raise by, say, 5 fps. Of course more would be nice!
Idk its weird... I installed the beta drivers recommended. I have winvista 32 bit, 8800 gtx overclocked, 2 gigs of ram, e6850 OC @3.35 GHz with game settings all set to very high except for post processing which i have at high and i have no AA and I get between 20, avg 25, high low 30s FPS but it doesn't seem all that bad. I actually can play the game very well.
I think the final game will be even more optimized I would imagine. I think the game looks amazing and plays great.
Lousy for me :(

Do you know how many more fps we could earn doing this?
