after some fiddling with the settings in the config i can get a very stable framerate of around 24fps whith the game still looking good im running a 9800pro im bound to be happy with any performance but to have a very playable framerate is better than i expected, i think people with higher end rigs are the ones that will be dissapointed simply because there hardware was cutting edge only recently and you would expect with say year old hardware to run at the highest settings without framerate issues.......but this doesnt seem to be the case........low end users rejoice though!!

Well you have to understand that when most people say "the game runs terrible" what they mean is that they can't max it out. The thing is though, is that the game looks gorgeous even on the High setting which definitely very runnable on higher-spec GPU's.

I have a dual core, 2GB ram and something like 1900X ATI graphics card. I could run theCOD 4 democompletely smooth on high settings, but with Crysis it defaulted to medium settings and I was really disappointed with the visuals. It didn't look good at all. Bad textures, bad everything. It ran completely smooth, but thenI tried it on high settings and it was unplayable. I didn't really like the gameplay either actually.

After searching various crysis forums, I've mostly been hearing that quad cores are not supported with the demo.

I can easily play this game at the lower res, but I want to get the full enjoyment out of it(this means maxxed settings at 1920x1200). Most people with high end rigs are used to the high resolution so I guess thats where they are complaining. I tried the high settings and the game looked beautiful, but it too choppy to be playable. At medium settings however it was "do-able". The folks at Crytek worked really hard on making this game, so I think it would be a shame to play it with medium settings with medium resolution.

Yes, I know some people say, "Its not the graphics that matter", but to me the graphics technology help to immerse the gamer into the experience. Plus its a first person shooter, so graphics do matter a great deal.

I thought I might add something. If you are playing the demo with your openGL settings maxed out or at least activated you will notice that plants in the distance are highlighted with white glowing edges, and when you are not it will look normal. Just thought I might add this small finding.:D

I have an X2 running at 2.6GHz with a X1900GT running at 580MHz and I'm getting 25-28 FPS with all medium, no AA at 1280x1024. I call that good. I'm happy with it.

AMD x2 6000+ 2GB G.Skill at 800mhz and a nVidia 7800GTX and game is at medium but after tinkering I could get some settings to high like textures, still even at medium the game looks better then what most games are out there and I'm getting around 25-35 FPS using nVidia's 169.01 drivers on Vista 32-bit and can't complain much, probably will be picking this up first day out

Just got the 64-bit to work with DX10 and I can tell the preformance is a little better than the 32-bit verson.

My system specs:
OS: Vista 64-bit
Memory: 3GB DDR2 PC2 4300
Card: Nvidia 8800 320MB GTS
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz

Oh just a note if you want the game to both look better and run better turn off the open gl. Just thought some people might have forgot to do that before they played the game. The opengl screws up the view distance like i mentioned before about the glowing plants.

I'm running at the lowest widescreen resolution with the following setup:

Core 2 Duo 6600 @ 2.4ghz

2.0GB of RAM

GeForce 8800 GTX (768MB with PCI-Express x16)

My framerate is unplayable with high settings. Still looks pretty good with medium settings and I'm getting around 30fps.

I have no idea why it performs so badly for me. I'm pretty sure I have a great setup. UE3 runs at highest settings more smoothly than any game I've played on the PC so far. I do realize that Crysis engine is DOING more, but I'm just a bit depressed at the outcome.

For those who have vista and a dx10 graphic card, will the game on realease perform better since the demo was based on the direct x9 version?

Cause i'm pretty worried about my performance... close to unplayable on my x2 4200 +, vista, 3 gigs of ram, and 8800gts 320mb...

I'm running a E4300 @ 3.0 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 8800 GTS (stock), andVista 32

Running high only on world texture and object texture with resolution of 1680 x 1050, the rest of the settings are a mix of medium and low. Running around 20s to mid 40s FPS average. I guess this is "OK" for me.

Wished it ran more smoothly like the UT3 demo, but then again, the world is so much larger and littered with plants and such. Still it'sa beautiful game.

It's OK for me, I can live with it, I was getting typically between 40-60 fps @ 1280X1024 on medium (a couple of options set to high) with 8800GTS and the latest beta forceware drivers. Definitely wish it was better, I'd like to crank up the detail :P

Kick *** game though, don't think I've ever had more fun with a demo!

I have 2 8800GTX in SLi, an AMD FX-60 processor, and 2.5 gb of ram. At MAX settings, I'm getting around 12 fps. I'm using Vista 64-bit. Will the actual game run better, or do I have to turn down my graphics once the game is released?

i have core 2 quad 6600, 2gb ram, 8800gts 640 mb. I get somewhere in the region of 28 - 32 fps in most areas running at 1280x1024, no aa, all settings on high except post-processing, water detail, and physics on very high, and shadows on medium. It never drops below 24 fps except when saving checkpoints, or when using fraps lol.

It looks stupidly nice, and its playable. Im hoping that by the full release, theyll have done more optimizing and nvidia will have better drivers out, so that the fps will raise by, say, 5 fps. Of course more would be nice!

Under Open GL I only have twocheck boxes-

1. Tripple Buffering

2. Force 24-bit Z-buffering depth

Both are un checked.

In the same tab but under "Direct 3D" I do have "Support SXT texture formats" checked...

Idk its weird... I installed the beta drivers recommended. I have winvista 32 bit, 8800 gtx overclocked, 2 gigs of ram, e6850 OC @3.35 GHz with game settings all set to very high except for post processing which i have at high and i have no AA and I get between 20, avg 25, high low 30s FPS but it doesn't seem all that bad. I actually can play the game very well.

I think the final game will be even more optimized I would imagine. I think the game looks amazing and plays great.

I am playing it with all settings on medium, no aa and textures on high and it plays well but is a little choppy around the buildings when a lot of guys are around shooting and there are explosions and such but it is definently playable. 3.4 ghz pentium 4, 2 gigs ddr ram and an 8800 gts 320mb evga.

Extremely well considering I'm running it on low on a P4 @ 2.667 GHz with 2.25GB DDR-333 RAM and an ATI X1650 Pro 512MB.

20-30 fps with a few occasional drops but nothing serious. It looks and runs great. I will be getting a new PC eventually but this is definitely more than enough for now. Crytek are amazing at optimisation.

Seems strange to me to turn down the Open GL rendering settings when the game is using DirectX9 or 10 for rendering. I think you just mean your driver's 3D settings in general, things like mipmapping.
