I'm fully aware that i was playing a beta in the first minute it was launched so i was definitley expecting some hiccups.

Lots of people, including myself who i was talking to ingame are complaining that the game runs like absolute ****. I was able to smoothly run BF3 on ultra. But several people had bumped down their game to medium-low settings just because the frames are awful. I also saw alot of glitches with debris. Several times i walked by a destroyed structre with random pieces of rubble floating in the air.

Again we're in the baby stages of a beta so hopefully lots of this will be ironed out, especially the frames, anyone else getting awful frames when they shouldn't?

Averaging around 60, but it drops to 40s and gets up into 70s. 1080p, everything on ultra, 4x AA, Motion blur disabled. CPU usage is maxed out. GPU usage is around 60% on both cards. RAM usage ~2GB, VRAM usage ~1.9GB. 3GB VRAM recommendation is BS. Probably a deal between DICE and AMD to make AMD cards more appealing. 3GB would of course be nice to have, if you're trying to run the game on ultra, but it's a bit silly to have it as recommended.

While I haven't played it that long, so far I got over 2GB VRAM, then again I game at 1440p. Some have reported over 2.3GB VRAM.

Aside from some slight stutters on certain areas of the map, I get the usual 60 fps the same in BF3 with everything set to max.

Running on Ultra, no supersampling, but everything else maxed I get anywhere from 20-70 FPS. Putting the visuals on medium and that doesnt change much. I'm suspected either an extremely, extremely CPU intensive game or Beta is very very much a Beta and will run like shit for the duration. Also, lots of netcode issues like running in place/rubber banding. Hope performance sees a huge increase because the Visuals are a zero upgrade from BF3 even on ultra, dont care what anyone else says! Destruction is better ,however.

720p?

1080p

Find it pretty hard to believe you're averaging 60 fps with a Phenom II quad and 580. Especially when I'm only getting 60 fps with an overclocked 3570K and SLI 670. Performance definitely isn't the same as BF3, not even close. I get 90-150 fps in BF3.

So the highest VRAM I seen on my MSI Afterburner is now 2156MB so far.

As for performance, it's all over the place.

The beta build is probably a few weeks behind their current build. I wouldn't worry about it.

Sounds like a CPU issue which is probably related to the drivers.

I'm in the mid 40 fps on ultra @ 1440p. This game is much beefier than BF3.

Maybe, the game is stuttery as all hell on the new Nvidia drivers. I even bumped things down to high/medium and it's there

I have a 680 and it's stuttering for me. I only have 6GB of ram and it's already consuming 95% of it.

Hate to sound like a noob but how are you guys accessing the graphics settings? in BF3 you had to go through the menus in campaign mode. Are you using global settings on the Nivida control panel?

definitely improeved, but far from fixed.  I have a GTX 670 FTW and while I ran BF3 very well, I struggle severely with BF4 right now.

Im not going to bother with Battlefield 4, mainly due to my specs. I don't see who I should upgrade my system just because of this one game. I can see it being full of the usual hackers and aimbots anyway

they've been testing another anti cheat to go alongside punkbuster, also there is a spectate mode which should help catch hackers

It would be cool if they just got rid of punkbuster, use their own anti-cheat.. and go from there. But we'll see.. this may or may not be a good thing. Thanks for the news.

to be honest, the spectate mode, with first person spectate (?), will help a lot proving people are cheating.  It was pretty hard to prove in BF3 unless they were being ridiculously obvious (knifing from spawn, one shotting cross map, or really obvious aim snapping)

It won't really, have you seen footage from it? It's not what I'd call perfectly synced. So what could look like cheating might just be lag

Textures are basically at low. Yup.  And textures isn't even a taxing graphics option.

I like the concept and mechanics, but my God is it laggy and does it perform terribly.

I've run into some weird bugs, including one where as I walked forward, I seemed to walk up an invisible staircase until I was standing in the air next to a building top. Lag is causing a lot of frustration for me, including incidents where the hit detection seems nonexistent sometimes or my parachute fails to deploy, and even on medium the game runs like crap when I was able to run BF3 on the highest settings easily.

Oh snap, I just hit 2.3GB VRAM.

Also I'm not liking the performance, too many 20s-30s ruin it.

The game is extremely CPU bound. At stock clocks (3.2GHz), I get 25-35 fps on ultra. Overclocked to 4GHz I jump up to 35-50. That's with two HD 7870s pretty much regardless of settings. Using "perfOverlay.DrawGraph" you can see how many frames your CPU is requesting to be rendered and how many frames your GPU is rendering. My GPU was rendering to my CPU cap regardless of setting suggesting major CPU bottleneck (even tested at lower settings, same deal). Take it with a grain of salt though, I am only running 4GB of RAM as opposed to 8GB and on a much older platform where Crossfire isn't as optimized.

320.49 is an older driver from a few weeks back. Newer drivers suck balls and cause constant stuttering on my 670. It's basically unplayable with the new beta drivers
