Observation: Dude comes to a thread which is about scary video games and goes "There are no scary video games".
Conclusion: Dude is a troll.

Stop feeding the troll, people.

Do you actually killy anything in Amnesia, or just walk around with a lantern?

SystemsGO

No you kill nothing. Which is why its so effective. You either stay and die or run and try to survive. It's a true "Survival horror" game.

People actually find video-games scary? That's not normal..

Arthur96

I'd love to see you play through Amnesia in the dark with full volume.

And don't feed me the "I already did, wasn't scary", don't want to hear anymore lies today.

Some people just don't allow themselves to become scared by horror games and movies and in turn don't get full enjoyment out of them glad I'm not one of those people :D. That being said alot of the so called horror games nowadays are really just action games.

As for answering TC question go buy the penumbra collection the first 2 games are great horror games then where you finish them try amnesia which does an even better job at creating a creepy atmosphere. For maximum immersion I recommend playing both games in a dark room with headphones and playing at a lower contrast/brightness setting ingame.

Seems there is a very bad case of Archaic Man Box adherence, which is ironically not all that "manly" being a slave and conforming to the confines of this box. Especially using the definition of "manly" that is used in said box.;)

Seeing this thread completely reminded me I need to get Amnesia during its next $5 sale.

I personally didn't like the Amnesia demo whatsoever so I went ahead and went beyond the year 2011 and bought Cryostasis and so far it has done a reasonable job scaring me, while offering some action that I prefer to Amnesia.
