Yeah, After watching Slayers for abit and listing to some of the music. It's got my brain itching for a Decent fantasy RPG. Now I would love to play a Slayers RPG on PC but there isn't any the last Slayers game was on Dreamcast backi n 2001.

But anyway, I already own Oblivin & Dragon age so don't suggest them. Im looking for a decent Third person/ActionRPG that can provice me with some good hours and character depth.

And no Warcraft! i frigging hate that game.

you could try The Witcher, or if you liked oblivion you could have a look at fallout 3, Titan quest is very enjoyable with a 50+ hr single player campaign as well as co-op with a good online community, as is Sacred2 fallen angel.......

Mass Effect and The Witcher are great 3rd person RPGs. If you're not limited to this gen only and/or 3rd person, I suggest you try older games like Baldur's Gate, Knights of the Old Republic, Neverwinter Nights, Icewind dale, Fallout series(minus Fallout 3), Planescape Torment, Heroes of Might and Magic(3 and 5), Deus Ex, System Shock, Gothic.

The Witcher: Enhanced is the best choice. you could also try Risen, the Gothic games, Divinity 2 and maybe Fable 1 even.

Still not what im looking for :S

Shame warcraft has a fee each month. It always preasures me into keep playing it 24/7. Guess im gonna have to reinstall Wow if i whana get that open ended RPG.

Sucks that i want to play a game that doesn't exsist. And never will, only in my head. Damn.

Neverwinter Nights 2. In ways similar to WoW, although a D&D-to-PC game translation.

Not exactly like WoW, but for a fantasy RPG you could also try King's Bounty games.

Divinity 2; you start out as Dragon slayer; later on you'll gain Dragon form, attaining Dragon abilities.

main storyline is standard fantasy stuff, but there are tons of side quests for you to spend time doing. character building has lots of options.

Risen is also reasonably well done; however, it doesn't seem to have enough fantasy elements in it.

also, you may check out Sacred 2; less fun, but still a decent, standard fantasy Action RPG.

NWN2->MotB is head n' shoulder better than all these games, but it's hardcore DnD stuff, not sure someone looking for action fantasy RPG would like it much.

Eneru112; WIN. Anyway. Action RPGs; Fable, Avencast: Rise of the Mage, Dungeon Siege 1 and 2, Loki, NWN2, Diablo mayhap? Character building; Planescape: Torment. Lots and lots of character building. Or Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Lionheart, etc. I personally recommend Eschalon Book 1 though, it's pretty old school, and awesome. I doubt it's anything like WoW though.

Lets see, A non dark rpg, You playied NWN2? still looks fairly decent for todays standards, it has sort of a fairytale feel to it, and you can get some nice remarks from your party members.

Older then that (but still very much worth playing) Arcanum has an odd cartoony Steampunk/magic crossroads design.

I'm doubtful that all of those older ones will run on Windows 7 64-bit. I'm leery of buying older games, it's quite a letdown when they don't execute.

It seems that there are only three people in this thread who have not read the original post. Quite an improvement, I'd say.

Anyway I don't play that many RPGs... but a good middle-fantasy one that you haven't played yet would be The Witcher.

+1 for The Witcher and Fable. You can also look into Torchlight. I have only played the demo of Risen, but some people seem to like it. Also, try Titan Quest - I didn't like it, but many do, so I think it's worth a look.

Dont forget to check out Fable: The Lost Chapters. It's addictive and has a long storyline and has a reasonable amount of hidden items and secrets to keep you occupied. do yourself a favor though and dont get a FAQ or walk-thru the first time, it ruins it... Fable 2 wasnt quite the game that the first was, give it a try, but no guarantees you'll like it...

I liked the first Fable game, as well. Just for the record, Fable 2 isn't even available for pc so that's a moot point.

I know you said you're not into sci-fi but really, try Fallout 3. I wasn't taken away by the sci-fi theme at first but once I started playing it was great.

I would recommend Sacred 2. Its open ended and has a great class selection and character cuztomization. Dungeon Siege 2 is also a fun hack and slash RPG but its linear and character development isn't all that deep.

I'm starting to think this was a joke topic - several AAA fantasy RPGs were named - most of them as good or better than Oblivion, most of them no "darker" than Oblivion - - yet the TC says none of them fit the description of what was asked for . . except . . they ALL do.

Therefore, this must have been a j/t.
