amd malta hd 7990 benchmarked. drops the 690 and titan like its hot

It's certainly impressive, but dual Titans in SLI do considerably better than that.  Dual Malta 7990s means quad-CF and all the problems that 4 GPUs bring.  Tons of negative scaling for instance.

Though the bright side is that AMD is not releasing multiple >=$1000 GPUs per year as nVidia is doing, at least if the rumors are true.  :P  Lol.

Would like to see a single-GPU AMD card to compete with Titan.

we have our first benchmark of the hd 7990 revision based on the new malta core. in 3dmark 11 (extreme preset) it wastes the nvidia similarly priced and configured competition by minimum 15%

To be fair isn't it a dual gpu? The titan is pretty damn fast for one gpu alone i'm sure two sli'ed would beat the 7990 easily.

Is that a dual GPU card? If so the numbers mean nothing until AMD fix their frame latency issues. No point having 100fps if it looks like 30fps.

amd cf drivers are not usable

you may not notice it now, but when your card is 3 years old you will be having loads of issues

Is it me or does Tri-Fire scale very well? Very few benchmarks out there to go by. If AMD can tap into the power potential with excellent drivers like they have been saying since January, it could be a very good thing.

I heard of the dread blue screen for tri-fire multi-monitor setups since last September.  Not sure how things are now but I'm sure you could look that up.

• 1260 & 360 Radiators fed with D5 pump
• A few lovely lights... lol

Results as follows:

• Heaven 2.5 898w
• 3D Mark Vantage (Performance) 906w
• Furmark on 3 screens 908w

• Skyrim 620w

Impressive, but I'd rather have a Titan because it has a single GPU and my preference goes to Nvidia.

None the less, if I get a third 7970 or a 7990, the dreaded AMD frame time problem will go bye bye.

I'm going to have to upgrade my power supply. I think 1300 watt power supply is good enough for three 7970's or 2 7970s + 7990.

Reviews are up. Looks like I'm NOT getting one. Was expecting something much better for $1000 or at least, $800 for it's current performance.

Time to go buy another 7970. Tri-Fire here I come!
