Michael Jackson...? Muahahaha

Nah, lately I've been appreciating Taylor Swift's songs and I've always liked Florence and The Machine. Couldn't specify a single song though.

Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. I don't like a lot of modern singing techniques to be honest, adding technical bits for the sake of it that add nothing to the song.

Chaka Khan's a woman? lol, I thought that was a man. I don't really know much about Chaka, but for some reason it sounds like a man's name to me.

Celine Dion, Mariah, and Shania. Oh and whoever the lady was that sang in "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man". The lady who sings Barracuda.

As far as current singers go Taylor Perry has some good songs, like "Dark Red Goes to Jail" and "I Kissed Tear Drops on a Mad Black Woman".

Let's see who else is good...hmm. Christina Aguilera, Mowaffak al Rubaie, Carley Rae Jepsen, Caity Lotz (well technically she doesn't sing, but she did some back up dancing in some of JLo's videos and she is the Canary so I'll put her on that list). I don't really care for most of Nicki Minaj's songs but I like "I wish I could have this moment for life", that song reminds me of Len Suzio (I'm probably the only person that thinks of Len Suzio when I hear that song, but then again I'm probably also the only person who used to think of Baden when hearing that song "Love Story" by Taylor Slow).

I'm going to get so much crap for this, but...

I really like Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill. Also a fan of Shirley Manson, particularly on their self titled album. (I love the bitter, angry tone of these albums).

Lacuna Coil - Christina Scabbia both vocalists are good, but well one's a dude so he doesn't fit here, and he doesn't even come close to Christina, one of my favorite singers ever, right behind Chad Grey

Yeah, but isn't it sung by Willie Nelson in that game?

Now that you mentioned it, I think it is sung by a man in that game. I guess I found out about Cline singing that song because on the show Nashville Juliette Barnes gets a job playing Cline in a movie and sings that song as part of the movie.

Willie Nelson wrote the song, 'Crazy'. It wasn't until that game that I actually found out he sung a version of it. Patsy Cline's is obviously the superior version.

Also Ironically, I was just near one of Taylor Swift's houses earlier today, heck I was probably closer to the house then she was (presuming she's on tour today). It was a few buildings over from the restaurant I was eating at, plus I had to go by the house on the way to the restaurant and the way back.

That "famous faces, far off places" part is such a moment. One of the most powerful middle eights ever.

Ray of Light is a stunningly beautiful album in general. The depth and ambience of it is incredible.

Phew, back on GSFs after a years-long hiatus...

As a musician myself, I've an incredible amount of respect/admiration for Regina Spektor. Her voice and piano riffs are absolutely mesmerizing... need I even mention, for instance, the inarguably commendable fact that she recorded her second album in a single day, in one take.

So many levels on which one can appreciate her.

EDIT: I hate spotlighting individual songs, but since the title asked... I've always considered Christina Aguilera's "Fighter" to be an indisputable classic. Won't go beyond that; too intractable for me!
