[QUOTE="Nonstop-Madness"]I think Romney just did a big oops with the whole "Creator" statement. cslayer211Actually that's a big part of the constitution, that our rights aren't given to us by our government, but instead by our Creator, so they can't be taken away from us. Declaration of independence. The Constitution doesn't mention a Creator.

Declaration of independence. The Constitution doesn't mention a Creator. Oh yeah, I meant to say the government. Nonetheless it's very important because it means that our government can't take those rights away from us.
Can't wait until fact checkers get on this. Boring debate and neither said anything new or substantial but Mittens had the energy so I guess he "won". Doesn't matter anyway once the foreign policy debate rolls around and Obama makes him look foolish.
I think this was a very good debate. Both had good points, both had bad points.
Obama good: He came across as very calm and very slick.
Obama bad: His answers were vague and nonsensical.
Romney good: He was a lot more specific with his points on his own policies. He cited more sources.
Romney bad: Holy s*** did he come across as aggressive and a bully.
Verdict:
Honestly, I have to give this one to Romney. I hate the guy, but in honesty, I didn't expect anything from this guy and he surprised me. That said, I think in terms of the debate, these guys are almost equal. I don't think this debate will change much in terms of polling. But Romney performed better than he did in the GOP debates.

Romney will get a little bit of a bump.
I'm under the impression that, for better of for worse, Romney will win the election. I won't vote for him, but this is what I believe and it's what I predicted since the beginning.
Here's the quote of the debate
"You're entitled to your own airplane and your own house, but not your own facts."

I don't know. Both have atrocious policies. Obama is much more a war monger than Bush and I f***ing HATED Bush. the difference is Bush was more vocal about it. Romney might cite Obama's clear failures and win, but then again, Romney might tout his aggression and lose. I honestly don't know.
Political debates are never, ever about substance. Substance is inimical to politics, since politics is basically the opposite of philosophy. It's about connecting to voters and selling yourself. It's like when you go to a whorehouse and all the girls line up for you to choose between them, only less dignified. Can't wait until fact checkers get on this. someone needed to slap the sh!t out of that moderator and tell him to man up for god sake. SO FKING annoying to see romney continually interrupting him, and even obama some times. DeathnoteSzSeriously Wtf he was getting bullied, this debate sucked I don't feel as either of them "won".

DeathnoteSzBetter that than what happened in '04, when the debates were so moderated the candidates couldn't even talk to each other. Debates with lax moderation are often better, because the debaters are more likely to go off the cuff and actually have a discussion.
Only hack partisan like would think that. They were both terrible and lying through the teeth, it was so horrible I almost fell asleep.Romney just basically destroyed Obama. Hands down.

Romney won the debate! He was meaner and more aggressive. Yes, he flip flopped and lied, but he won. Where was Obama? He was playing it too safe. I was disappointed with Obama tonight.

Not really. It's pretty clear to everyone who came out on top. I've always criticized Romney in the past for being weak in debates, he was NOT weak in this one.
[QUOTE="Pirate700"]
Agreed. Wish we would have seen this Romney much sooner.

Me too. I like this Romney.
you mean Secret Plans Romney?[QUOTE="airshocker"] When the liberal commentators are actually blogging that Obama wasn't on good form, then yeah.... this was Romney's night.Romney just basically destroyed Obama. Hands down.

That isn't how you judge Presidential debates. Of course they're both lying and spinning and bullsh*tting, they're politicians, it's what they do. The question is who presented their lies in a nicer package? The answer is clearly Romney. Yeah, he wasn't specific at all, but being specific is a terrible move for politicians when they end up governing totally different than what they campaigned on (which happens basically every time).Romney just basically destroyed Obama. Hands down.

I think I agree with this one. Again, I'm not voting for Romney, but I think I really have to hand it to him in this debate. He simply performed better.
