you wanna bet on that? watch house on the hill alone at night with the lights turned off and i can say you would never want to sit in the dark with the lights off again. You'll be scared for all your life!
The boogie girl will extremscare you! :D

Just because you become older than the rating a horror film was given, it doesn't mean that it can't still scare you.
Â
And i have a feeling that the original poster meant the House On Haunted Hill
I understand that, but being a big fan of the genre you start to learn all the cliches. Horror movies just don't scare me as much as that used too.
Being 21 now, movies don't really scare me. But Child's Play 2 scared the crap outta me when I was little.staindcoldlp
Really? I'm 3 years older than you and I always loved that particular movie. I watched the movie hundreds of times and it always felt more like an action adventure movie than everything else. The final factory scene is my favorite part. :)
Â
Ok about the topic, I was scared to death when I first saw The Exorcist and Shining. Shining still gives me shivers.Â
It.
Watched it when I was 4.

yeah, that movie was pretty damn scary for a nine or ten year old (i think i was at that time). one of the best made-for-tv-movies ever.Â

Indeed. Although the ending made absolutely no sense.Â

if you read or were understanding the ending of the book that the movie tried to portray...it made sense, but honestly in movie form...the ending didn't translate well. i get your point though.Â
the third movie in the "trilogy of terror" scared the bejeezus out of me when i was a little kid. That little tiki doll that came to life. I'd like to see it again to see how cheesy it looks now.

Wow good call! I had almost forgotten about that scary Zuni fetish doll that chased Karen Black all over her apartment. When it first aired on TV my parents wouldn't let me stay up to watch it so I snuck out of bed and watched it from the stairs where they couldn't see me sitting. Scary stuff for a kid back then.Â

Nothing recently. But when i was a kid Chucky used to scare the **** outta mezero9167Same here, I had a doll that looked like him and after I saw the movie I had to throw it away because it would give me nightmares, but now I just find Chucky amusing, but he scared the hell out of me when I was younger
Another one that ruined many nights of sleep for me as a child was "Creepshow". It came out in '82 when I was seven. The third story "The Crate".....damn that thing was scary. :cry:Creeping_Wolf
Â
Overall I thought that Creepshow was pretty lame. I watched it again fairly recently and mostly it was just stupid and cheesy. But yeah, that story about the crate was great stuff. That story still creeps me out even today.Â
