Did the people who voted for Obama legitimately like him/trust his policites/believe in his next term or did they just vote for him in order to note vote for Romney? For me it was a little of both.

I just didn't understand why so many people seemed to trust Obama after the massive disappointment with the performance of his first term, so I would think they'd be ready to get rid of him. The only answer I can come up with is that they don't think of Romney as much better. But who knows.

I was just thinking about this. I agree. I live in an African American dorm and I asked why they didn't like Romney and all they said was "he's stupid" and that was it; no clear explanation.

The disappointment in his first term had more to do with a bill-blocking house of congress than his actual leadership.

Because I don't like the Republican Party right now, they are pretty wacko. And I don't want them to have so much power in Congress and White House

Completely ignoring the low quality of the GOP candidate, I'll put this forwards:

Because he's not as bad as Republicans make him seem with all the propaganda? He's socially progessive, pro new energy sources, pro business in America, pro equal rights for women and homosexuals. Has a foreign policy 100 times better than Mitt Romney(further sanctions and possible strike on Iran?Really?). And not being brainwashed republican. I'm an independant and I voted for Gary Johnson but I was definitely supporting Obama over Romney and so was the rest of the world.

Maybe different people have different reasons and we shouldn't extrapolate the opinions of one person onto an entire group of people?

I personally suspect more people voted against Obama for illegitimate reasons.

Because when you don't follow Republican or Democratic rhetoric and look at facts, and how far the country has progressed since 2008/2009 it's actually quite amazing. Not to mention the hostility and stonewalling he has received from Congress.

I'm a registered Republican and voted for McCain in 2008. I voted for Obama yesterday because of FACTS.

Tell me what this jobs graph actually means, without any spin.

Obama doesn't think Russia is our biggest threat. Thats 50 times better.

Obama realizes that using China is a red herring; they only own a meager percentage of our debt. Thats 50 times better.

I voted for Obama because I can't support Romney's intentions of eliminating the EPA, among other reasons.

No Afghanistan doesn't see a difference. i also dont give a sh!t what Afghanistan thinks of our foreign policy. *I* will care if we decide to spend resources "fighting" Russia or needlessly "getting tough" on China. Or spending needless money on building a larger Navy.

That's my goddamn tax money.

So Romney makes an idiotic claim and its "oh, he doesn't mean that!"

Im failing to see your Romney-class idiotic claim of "BU DEY AR DA SAME" when one isn't claiming Russia to be our #1 Geopoliticla Enemy and we've gotta get tough on China.

Obama hasn't been a "massive disappointment" as you put it. The situation he came into was a train wreck and hes doing what he can while facing crazy opposition and people who not willing to cooperate or compromise. Despite that he has managed to do a ton of good. It seems like people expect things to just instantly go back to the way they were during the Clinton years but it just isn't going to happen with the hole we are in. This is what recovery looks like slow and painful but things are improving. I side with Obama on many things and am against romeny on a great things thats why i voted obama.

He also accurately understood the difference of operationalversatility between current ships and those in 1913.

XaosII

I forgot about that. We need more ships. MORE SHIPS. MORE SHIPS. MORE SHIPS

That was a big deal for me.

Romney wanted to 'reduce the deficit', 'cut spending', 'reduce the size of governement'... while cutting tax rates and increasing military spending to 4% of GDP?!!

That's over half a trillion dollars a year!!

it simply does not compute. And it's scary. It's the last thing the world needs. And thankfully voters have rejected it.

I voted for Obama confidently, happily and as a man pleased with his record from his first term in office.

Obama has been a disappointment. And in four more years the country will still be a mess.

 Rhetoric. Care for an original thought?
