For me in English we were going over slang throughout the 20th century and we got to swagger. Someone asked what it meant. Almost everyone was in awe when they found out that swag was short for swagger.

I assume the dumb part of that scenario is the person who claimed swag is short for swagger? Because it's not.
"Time is irrelevant, and doesn't change things."
I didn't hear it said but I read it as a quote from someone. It's the most ignorant thing I've ever heard.

What's it short for then? Swaggalicious? It's not short for anything. Swag is its own word. Swagger was derived from swag, not the other way around.

Also neither words are common usage, so I don't see how any of this can be considered "The dumbest thing you've ever heard".'Playstation 3 visuals are better than top of the range PC visuals' It's surprising how often I see people write that on forums.MushroomWigThat is not really dumb just ignorant. People don't understand that PCs are so upgradeable. Anyways, I can't really cite specific examples but I have heard so many people incorrectly talk about events in history that it just makes me facepalm. And when I correct them some people are ignorant enough to stick by their idiocracy.
Back when I worked with ice cream, some girl asked me how many scoops came in a double scoop. I just kinda looed at her with a blank face.
loving life. I can't stand it when people say that.SailorHiiragiI get an urge to hit people that say that. Pisses me off so freaking much

you must not talk to many people cause honestly that's not that bad. I didn't get any reaction out of it, it was more of whatever. I'm sure theres something better you can come up withFor me in English we were going over slang throughout the 20th century and we got to swagger. Someone asked what it meant. Have to agree with you guys.
Highly annoying. Reminds me of the myspace girls years back who would update there status with that everytime they got a new boyfriend or something. Then a week later posting another status like "omg life sucks so bad. Ill never fall in love again."
Rinse and repeat every week.
As a PC gamer I'm baffled when I read that. As a console gamer I am not baffled by this, though I know it's a false assumption. I wish consoles were stronger, therefor they are!!!!!!!!!! :x[QUOTE="MushroomWig"]'Playstation 3 visuals are better than top of the range PC visuals' It's surprising how often I see people write that on forums.mitu123
When someone said to me-- after I said I was moving to Portugal:
"Oh isn't that a place in Spain?"
I was both insulted and overflowing with facepalms. :P
I wonder if, now stay with me, if someone could make a statement with so much concentrated fail that a Facepalm tree started to grow in the vicinity. When someone said to me-- after I said I was moving to Portugal:

I work in a restuarant. i got a couple. I love the : I want my meat rare but not cold/I want my beef med-rare but not bloody.
However these two are the funniest and dumbest things I've heard.
1:
Customer: I want the fried rice with everything in it.
Server: Chicken fried rice?
Customer: no, not just chicken--everything.
Server: Beef fried rice?
Customer (looks to her husband): which one is it honey?
Customer (husband): combination fried rice.
2:
Customer: Excuse me, this beer you just served me isn't cold.
Server: You want ice with that?
Once met a guy who swears to the fact that he saw a triangular UFO hovering directly above him in broad daylight, doing rotations and claimed it moved without accelerating
This SAME guy thinks that the bricks used to build the pyramids in ancient Egypt were moved by kites of some sort....
