I suppose it'd depend on the ability. I mean, if I were able to see through pizza boxes I'd only really be able to pre-inspect the delivery guy and perform very limited anti terrorism.
Let's start with the superpower I would like to have - mind reading.
If I had that power, I would consider politics. Having the ability to read my opponent for lies, and why they're lying, would give me a huge advantage.
World domination I'm going to be supreme ruler, have my own grand army, be incomprehensibly rich, and I really love girls and I'll have however many I wish. It will be a totalitarian reign and all wealth will be distributed evenly with all citizens effectively eliminating poverty. And my super power would be I can shoot fire out of my fingers at will.
The only abilities I would want is shapeshifting and be able to wield the powers of darkness. And if I get both I would become a dragon then bring eternal darkness upon the world and burn everything into a flame of shadows. Well probably have some fun with shapeshifting like turn into Hitler then knock on someone's door just to see the reaction I would get.
