Makeup can be an outlet for self expression. For some people it can even seem like a part of their identity. They wear it whether they are home alone or in a crowd of people. They do it just for themselves. I'm not saying this is the norm or anything, just that people like this do very much exist.

No, they are expressing themselves to themselves. They do it for fun or for art, and not for an audience.

Never wore makeup in my life; not even on Halloween.

This is how I draw the line -

Wearing make up is wearing make up

Not wearing make up is not wearing make up. It really is a binary thing.

Unkempt might be, not brushing one's hair, or not washing one's face, or wearing odd socks or something.

Someone can be hygenic, clean, and wearing decent clothes but just not wearing any make up.

Someone can be wearing make up, with vomit down their top, and hair all over the place.

Nothing wrong with just a little bit of make up that's not really noticeable. But there is a problem when your face starts to look like it was assaulted by a box of coloring crayons.

Sheesh, reminds me of prom. Maaaan some of the girls overdid it on makeup. Some of them wore some crazy colored eyeshadow and lipstick that did NOT match with their skin.

Its just like cigarettes. If youre already pretty, makeup just enhances your look, if youre a pig, its just makeup on a pig. If youre cool, smoking makes you look cooler, if youre not, your still uncool.

Makeup makes girls hotter for the most part. Some girls use too much of it, and that's unattractive, but girls without makeup on aren't nearly as pretty. Makeup is necessary.

Done right it makes a woman look better. Many women aren't very good at doing it though.
