What is your number one internet-related pet peeve?

Mine is when people make a claim and then refuse to back it up with sources/data/evidence and instead simply insist on their claim over and over as if that will make it true. While this is happening, I'm thinking, "Who the **** are you? Post evidence (from a credible source) or GTFO."

Anyway, what's your number one internet-related pet peeve?

Anyone who uses the expression "Economics 101" or "common sense economics"

• Ignorant people
• Sites which tell me "we have noticed you are using Ad-block perhaps you would like to contribute in another way". No I do not.

• People which concern themselves with other people's money.

• NSA tracking my stuff.
• Data caps.

Yeah definitely agree with these, especially this ads issue. These days, Come on internet, enough with the ads already, feels like the internet has been reduced to a super Ad avalanche bonanza. Its ridiculous, especially when certain sites, like you said, try to battle against Ad-Block, and find sneaky ways to try and get you to disable it.

Yay, I just hope this is true for all users and not just some of them.

- When people think they're opinions (though mostly if said opinions are pretty crappy, mediocre, or unpopular) are facts.

- When someone looks to be deliberately trying to be pretty creepy/unsettling, especially towards women.

- and this is for the old Terms of use: when you got moderated for only double-posting. :P

People that say "IMO" or assume what I say is fact or can't tell the difference between a fact and an opinion.

^This plus people/sites that bitch about their audience using adblock.

- I don't think I'm really a fan of users going in to any site solely to advertise as well, seems obvious they're cronies in on this whole internet mass ad apocalypse.

People that use acronyms such as "smh", "smdh", and the word "bae".

Also, internet boards such as these that are so friggin' laggy no matter how fast my internet connection is.

While trolls, bad debaters and other discussion related issues are quite irritating... nothing burns my buns as much as the lack of desire to even attempt to use the English language properly.

Now, see, I know you are doing it on purpose. And it's just so ridiculous that it's almost entertaining (like cat memes).

What I'm talking about is people who don't proofread their posts, or try and fix an error. I try my best all the time to communicate clearly and succinctly, so that others can understand what I'm saying, especially those for whom English might not be their first language.

Animal lover nuts who yell animal abuse every time someone tickles a kitten...

• Google messing YouTube up by linking comments to Google + or whatever the hell is it that they do.

• Facebook making me giving them "a reason" every time I want to deactivate my account.
• Firefox not having an add on/feature to "hide" bookmarks.

You can hide the bookmarks in Firefox. Go to the top of the window, right click and uncheck the bookmarks toolbar.

Nah, I mean for example when you type something on the url bar some of you bookmarks might appear as suggestion. I would like for the user to be able to hide some bookmarks from appearing there.

Running a site isn't free, they have to make money one way or another. Wikipedia doesn't do it with ads, but they do make it happen with donations, for example.

People who TL;DR as if it's some point of pride or as if they believe it to be an insult to anything other than than themselves. I don't care that people can't be bothered to read a few paragraphs, mine or anyone else's, it's just depressing to think so many think it's something to brag about.

As far as mine, the pc warriors that will bully a person for having a minor out of context moment. The whole idea of the Internet was having open discussions, but it has devolved into walking on egg shells and thought policing.

usually people who wrote these are not creative and overrate the famous and rely on obvious information from similar articles,and not personal view. Just wish people only work these once a year to review what made it famous throughout the year.

@horgen: Yep; apparently tickling a cat is animal abuse. So is playing with a dog and have him chase a laser pointer, or even want to have pure bread puppies because dogs should be able to choose what dog to shag, instead of being forced to shag their own breed.
