I am consistently confused with Up to you, you're up, and up yours, believing that it means it is your turn, choice or responsibility. Can you please help me clarify this?

Try not to answer people with "up yours"
why not?
See the first post.
Up to you = you choose
You're up = it's your turn
Up yours = **** you (basically)
Also, as a non native English speaker, I think getting the differences between the three of them is much easier to catch if you hear them being said in context.

Well I mean if it's totally called for then do. Definitely do.
yeah. sometimes it's the only thing you should tell people.
So once I was watching Blazing Saddles on network TV for some reason. The part where Cleavon Little politely addresses an old lady on the street in the movie and she replies with "Up yours, N-----" was obviously redubbed for the network TV version. What surprised me was the line they redubbed it with was "Screw you, N-----". Because apparently the "Up Yours" was the offensive part of that statement.
