Normally, you would have to pay for a $40 pay-per-view to see the world's greatest fighters compete. But UFC 75 is going to be FREE on Spike TV in the United States and A BELT IS ON THE LINE. If you are a sports fan and have never seen the UFC, this is your chance witness what everyone's talking about, without having to fork over $40.

As many of you know, the UFC is the premier mixed martial arts orginization in the world. The UFC purchased its biggest rival, Pride FC earlier this year. UFC 75 will mark the first title unification bout, with each organization's 205 pound champ fighting in the main event.

This card is stacked, and every fight has the potential to be a show stealer. Here are the two biggest fights on the card:

-Quinton Jackson 27-6 (#2 Light Heavyweight in the World) vs. Dan Henderson 22-5 (#4 Light Heavyweight in the World)

Both fighters are coming off huge knockouts of established champions. Dan Henderson is a former olympic wrestler and Rampage Jackson is a slam artist. Both are known for their superb wrestling and heavy hands. This fight is almost impossible to predict.

-Mirko Cro Cop 22-5 (#3 Heavyweight in the World) vs. Cheick Kongo 10-3

Cro Cop got his start in K-1 Kickboxing. He successfully transitioned to mixed martial arts by destroying some of the top heavyweights in Pride and winning the 16-man openweight tournament in 2006. He has amazing takedown defense and a killer left high kick. He was defeated by Gabe Gonzaga in his second UFC fight, but he's on a mission to prove that fight was a fluke. Cheick Kongo is also a skilled kickboxer and is an athletic freak. Expect tis fight to end by knockout

The fights start Saturday at 9!

I've watched that before - they lay on top of each other for 13 minutes trying to fillibuster their opponent and collect more points - waste of time to me - they should both be under the influence of hardcore drugs and given powerful weapons - now that I would watch

As much as I want to, I'm not going to bash you for being ignorant. Here are some stats for you:

-ONLY 26% of UFC fights go to decision

-34% of UFC fights end by submission

-38% of UFC fights end by KO/TKO

-The average UFC fight lasts 1.78 rounds (8 minutes and 50 seconds)

Well, some poeple don't like sports. Others only like sports that involve grown men playing with balls. Others like to see people fight. It just depends on your preference.

I used to be like you. Then I started watching MMA and now other sports seem silly.

I agree with you. Pride WAS better. But now it's basically dead and most of the great Pride fighters are going to the UFC.

How dissapointed do you think Dana White was when Cro-cop got knocked out in his second fight? At least Rampage is making a good showing for the former PRIDE though.getyeryayasout

Nice post about MMA above that one. I agree 100%.

And about the quoted post: I was completely shocked during the CC fight. I managed to stay off the web all day, so when I saw Cro Cop get KTFO by Gonzaga, I was totally surprised. I jumped up and screamed "HOLY SH!T!!" about a dozen times. I think Dana's plan was to have Cro Cop come in and take the belt from Sylvia. But since Randy already did that, I bet he wasn't too disappointed that Gonzaga won the title shot. Then again, he's paying a hell of a lot more money for CC than he is for Gonzaga.

As for Rampage, he's one of my favorite fighters, so I was as happy as anybody when he beat Chuck. Henderson is gong to be a much tougher test, though.

this is gonna be awesome. i think the cro cop fight will be something that can truly sell mma to the masses. its a guaranteed knock out. thoguh i think the henderson/rampage fight has the potential to be a sleeper(usually 2 wrestlers dont make for the most exciting fight).

Cro Cop is a great fighter but he comes off like a robot anytime he's on the mic. I don't think they'll be able to market him as well as they thought they could.

I think my favorite fight in the last few months was Matt Sera beating St. Pierre. My buddy was giving me a load of sh17 when I told him Sera would win that fight, my buddy had the egg on his face though.

getyeryayasout

Nooo! GSP is the man. That loss was even more shocking to me than the Cro Cop loss, so I would have given you a load of sh!t too. But that's one of the great things about MMA, you never really know what the hell is going to happen.

I'm just glad that GSP is back on track with his win over Josh Koscheck. He's next in line for a shot at the welterweight title so theres a good chance we'll see a rematch between Serra and GSP. I don't think Matt Hughes can beat Serra because Hughes doesnt have knockout power and Serra's groundgame is far better than that of Matt Hughes.

For sure. GSP outwrestled a 4 time all american wreslter. He's that good. I could watch that takedown defense all day. Nobody else can stop Kos' takedowns, but GSP makes it look easy.

As for Serra, I hope he wins, but Hughes might be too powerful. Either way, it should be a great fight.

I have to work so I'm going to miss it :(

I'm a little more pumped about UFC 76 when Shogun crushes Forest Griffin.

I am a little interested on how Cro Cop returns from his previous knockout. He still has a lot to prove in the UFC, so hes probably going to give it his all.

I disagree that Matt Serra has a better ground game than Matt Hughes. Serra's BJJ is better for sure, but Hughes is probably one of the best GnP specialists in MMA today. He also has a solid wrestling game which he showed at the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship a few years ago.

That one could be a good fight, but I'm not too interested in it. I think it's just getting hype because of their TUF drama. Rampage and Henderson are on a completely different level, in terms of skill and experience. And trust me, the Cro Cop vs. Kongo fight will be very, very exciting.

I think WrestleMania might have something different to say about that.

"UFC Surpasses Boxing and Blows Away WWE in Battle for U.S. PPV Dollars with Over $200 Million in Gross PPV Sales

The UFC broke the pay-per-view industry's all-time records for a single year of business and generated over $200 million in revenue during 2006, according to two credible media outlets.

Even WWE's biggest event of the year, WrestleMania, was actually out-drawn at the domestic box office by the UFC's second-biggest PPV of the year, and not by a close margin (775,000 to 640,000)."
