I think they have a right to express themselves, but I think it is quite disrespectful. Taking someone who many sees as a God and their personal savior, and potraying him to be something that many would find disturbing.

It's in bad taste and it's not clever. People are allowed to express themselves however they want, but they are going to have to expect critisism when they pull nonsense like this.
It was a peaceful protest with hymns and placards.
Mob consisting entirely of Squares
they couldn´t identify quality entertainment even if it walked up to them and punched them in the face.
Altho, i will draw the line when transsexual babyjesus makes his way to the stage.
One sign read "God: My Son is not a pervert".
Do they even know what transexual is?
And who cares about "misrepresenting" Jesus? What does it matter if he's male or female? He's "misrepresented" by christians themselves more often than anyone else.
A pastor said: "You can't blaspheme God and use freedom of speech as an excuse for that." of course you can! That's the whole point of freedom of speech :roll:Engrish_Major
Yeah, thats what i was thinking lol.
Nah, they probably have no idea what a transsexual is. :P I think this all is kind of funny. The play doesn't seem too awesome quality, but at the same time there are a variety of creative routes they might have taken to make the topic interesting, and I give them kudos for that. It may be offensive to some, but this is likely much more symbolic than anything. People shouldn't be up in arms. One sign read "God: My Son is not a pervert".

To put it mildly. I may not agree with one's beliefs but I won't mock them either. Too bad society doesn't feel that way....That's pretty distasteful. :|

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]Apparently. That as individuals...maybe we should leave people to their beliefs. The only time to be concerned is if the beliefs are endangering others. Say for instance the groups in the past that used human sacrifice. That would be a cause for concern. You missed the entire point of my initial post.

Just imagine if someone put on a theater production featuring a gay Martin Luther King, or a gay Muhammed, or a gay JFK.
It would be condemned nation-wide. But of course, the far-left seculars deem it acceptable to mercilessly mock anything that has a Christian connotation.
In short, that's disrespectful and very intolerant for a demographic, the LBGT community, that preaches tolerance nonstop.

... Generalizations.. I honestly would not care what so ever.[QUOTE="Darth-Caedus"]The people who protest this kind of stuff really need to get over themselves. TaCoDuDe
It's offensive to Christians. They have a right to disagree with it, and it's obvious why they would. Where's the problem here?
Are those Christians forced to watch the play?
I see the church as a vile brainwashing institution that gives false information on homosexuality.
I'm not forced to visit the church however, so I don't see a reason for me to protest against the church.
How is it Nonsense? Your judging them for there views, which even in the bible is wrong... I'm not a religious person (Agnostic/Atheist) and I see the Bible as bad taste... Should I go protest your right to believe in it and have faith in god or should I do what I've always done and ignore your religious views because it has no effect on meIt's in bad taste and it's not clever. Where's the "freedom of expression" that lets this play be produced?

Who knows who cares, in the end protests like this regardless if its religious based or not are stupid as hell.. Waste their time for all I care..Well, God created us in His image supposedly, and if there are transexuals, then I suppose Jesus might be a little transexual too.

[QUOTE="mrbojangles25"]Image doesn't mean physical....;) Depends how you interpret the Bible i guess. If you interpret as 'making us in his image' as 'making us like him' then for people to be born with a given sexual orientation, surely that is God's doing. Unless he gets it wrong? :PWell, God created us in His image supposedly, and if there are transexuals, then I suppose Jesus might be a little transexual too.
