Adding onto this, %99 of metal, %100 of Punk and the band Slipknot (they are metal, but they pretty much fit into their own category as far as I'm concerned (yes they are that bad)).
[QUOTE="EboyLOL"][QUOTE="Carlos_Santana"] Dumb Band Names (Ex. Jimmy Eat World; Death Cab For Cutie) Adding onto this list, the Butthole Surfers. They are actually a pretty good band.

I don't really hate music, but I find the vast majority of Western music to be bland and uninteresting. What does irritate me, though, are people who know little to nothing about musical analysis but debate music with the arrogant belief that their unsupported opinions are fact. Equally irritating are people who claim that one can not prove that one composition or performance is superior to another because it's all opinion, or people that claim that you can not compare performances of different instruments, or across genres... ignorance at its finest.
This is a rather silly thing to hate. Dedicating oneself to performance ensures that one will become as fine a performer as possible. Also, without dedicated performers, most of the greatest music that has ever been written would have been lost immediately after the composers died. This is to say nothing of the fact that interpretation of a composer's work is a challenging art in and of itself, and a skill that is to be respected, not dismissed.
