Bruce I think there is a strong feeling of support for postponing this stuff. Maybe we can use this as a discussion of stuff we have recently read in general till we get the club starteddave123321I concede. I think we will have more discussion then anyways. So what, postpone for... a month? Should we just drop American Gods and this poll and start fresh in a month? Asking everyone. And Dave, I'm on the second chapter. Was planning not to read ahead. Maybe you me and Rocinante can just do AG here on our own.
American Gods is a good choice for the club. Would hate to lose it. I vote to have that be the book we discuss when we get the main thing going next month.dave123321And because it appears as though people may have already bought the book. For now, let's continue to hype this up.
I agree.
How about, to please Lai, we read Of Mice and Men in the meantime? It's only 100 pages. Something short so that we can have something to discuss and this doesn't disappear. We could do a graphic novel right now as well.
Dave, I am naming you vice president. As vice president, it is your duty to keep this thread active if I am absent, and to keep me in check. Do not allow me to go power happy, like some think Lai has. Finally, you must be an active discusser.
Kong, I name you Chairman. It is your duty to recruit new people and recommend books for future polls. Also, if Dave and myself are absent for a period of time, you shall become acting president of the club.
That is, if you guys would lke the responsiblity.

Ok, will do, thanks for appointing me to this positionI agree.

Any chance I could have a position? I'm a massive reader and a writer, if that helps :PShadowsDemonIf you continue to show interest and activity in the thread, I could make a position for you.

so we're reading of mice and men now and american gods later? or are we just gonna postpone the whole thing?
Reading Of Mice and Men, if you want, now, and starting AG in a month. Damn college students making us wait But I would recommend starting AG, if you're really into it. I think we could discuss both books. Just probably going to be you me and Dave though. Then, when the rest of those interested are able to read, we can "re-discuss" it.so we're reading of mice and men now and american gods later? or are we just gonna postpone the whole thing?

A good day for supporters of Of Mice and Men. I said it then that we did not have time to read a 600+ page book at this time of year. After two hard defeats, things are finally as they should be.LaihendiRe-read the whole thing today lmao. All I can say is f*ck Lennie
I am a bit too busy with stuff in general to really get into either book. Haven't had much time to read much of anything for fun.dave123321Disappointed Perhaps we shall not read any book
What I meant to say is, Rocinante, is if you want, read at your own pace and pleasure, and then come back here with thoughts and questions.
I am concerned that as Vice President of both the Book and Film clubs Dave is becoming too powerful. I like Dave, but he is a potential threat and we should be careful in dealing with him.LaihendiHe doesn't have much power unless both you and me are gone for a while. So he is not a threat. Please relax Lai.
So what was the most recent book you guys read?dave123321Of Mice and Men. Currently reading NeverWhere, Sandman, Promethea, and American Gods. You?
