Looks like a well made film, but I just couldn't get into any of the LOTR movies.

Anyone else find it weird that the first movie made such a big character out of Azog? The only mention of Azog in the Hobbit book is at the Battle of the Five Armies where the book mentions "Bolg Son of Azog".

I'm fine with it. The more lore put into the movie, the better.

It doesn't bother me since I haven't read the book or the LOTR books, so I guess this also makes it somehow more enjoyable. :)

Believe me, I tried a few times. I tried to watch them at home (My experience with the first film in theaters was a nightmare), but I just couldn't really get into the whole wizards/elves genre of fantasy. Not that I hate it or that it's bad, it just never clicked with me.

They're incorporating a lot more Middle Earth lore into the movies than what was in the book. It's probably so they can have three movies. I can't see The Hobbit being stretched out into three films if they stick to the story in the book.

You got such good taste in movies its a pity you couldn't get into LOTR world.

On topic: Best Trailer ever. First day first show confirmed :)

I'm gonna have to give it another chance eventually--visually they look fantastic.

God I cannot fucking wait to see this movie in Imax!

The first Hobbit movie was actually my first major film that I saw in Imax and it was DAMN epic!

Anyone else think Smaug is looking to be a shoe-in for greatest on-screen dragon of all-time? A buddy of mine is seriously thinking about watching the first Hobbit movie so he can go see this one in theaters mainly because of how awesome Smaug looks, lol.

Wasn't real impressed by the first movie. Doubt I'll bother with this one or the third.

Except that Azog was slain like 150 years before the events in 'the Hobbit'.

Lookin' forward to it! Went to see The Hobbit last year in 48 FPS, in 3D, and hoping this will also be available in that format. Anyone know the release date?

Looks cool, but I'm not gonna bother with any of these movies until next year. With the LOTR movies, I got really sick of waiting a whole year for the next part. So this time I'm gonna wait until the last movie is in theaters so that I can watch all of them back to back.

I'm pumped, while they have done some serious "creative" additions, it looks amazing!

I didn't care much for the first entry, and I really wasn't motivated to see the second or third installment, but I'll be damned if this isn't an amazing trailer. I'm afraid it got me too hyped.

cool, this time around I'll avoid seeing it in HFR, something about it just didn't sit right with me, but a non-HFR 3D IMAX is probably the way I'll see it

I couldn't wait 2 years to watch the movies. At least it's not as bad as waiting for Avatar 2. :P

That could be it. I'm going to try watching them again soon; the movies look too amazing to write them off completely.

I actually couldn't get into LOTR the first time I watched it, when Fellowship of the Ring came out in theaters. Then last year I sat and watched all 3 movies and enjoyed them all. So idk, maybe I was also into other kinds of high fantasy at the time, but Tolkien just didn't appeal to me when I was younger.
