Yea I know im about 7 months late but I finally saw it and I have to say that its pretty wild. I didn't get vertigo or nothing wierd like that but it was wild how it was first person scene throughout the whole movie which was pretty nice. Oh BTW there's going to be a sequel where its going to be from other people's views!

Then I heard that there was actually 2 monsters in the film! IDK tho!

it's cool how in the final scene, looking out at sea to the right, you can see the monster plunge into the ocean. That was sweet.

I didn't like Cloverfield. It was semi entertaining but overall it was a bland movie that was "cool" because they shot the film with a shaky camera. If they shot it in a regular format people would've hated it.

A friend of mine kept going on about how orgasmic-ally good it was. So, when I finally saw it, I wasn't that impressed.

I wouldn't of hated it. I liked Cloverfeild personally even if they didn't use the camera which at first I thought was a bad idea but overall added to the film.

Well, of course. The whole appeal was being brought into the frantic mindset of these people.

Yeah very true. It was cool because it was fresh new adventure movie. I didn't hate it but never enjoyed it either.
The annoyance i had was that its set in New York. Seriously that city has had so many Monsters attack it or natural disasters etc.

What was messed up was how Jason died. They told him to look and move and then bam tail just took over everything.

Actually, that object is still being disputed. I've heard a lot of people saying it was a satillite that crashed into the ocean and disturbed the monster.

I liked it, it's really the only hand-held movie besides The Blair Witch Project and they're both very good.

It was worth the $5 I spent to see it, but I don't think I'd watch another one. It was a B-movie with a lame gimmick that was utilized well enough to make the movie seem unique. And that's all it was. A well-done trashy b-movie that was sort of fun.

But we really don't need to see more of this garbage. Not unless they can do something original with the FPS gimmick that actually warrants using such a gimmick. But as it stands now, Cloverfield was enough. I liked it, but I think that it exhausted the potential of the franchise. We saw exactly what we need to see, and we don't need to see any more. Do we REALLY need to see another FPS movie with a big stupid invincible monster ****ing people up?

They said part 2 will be about either another monster. The monster in the movie was only the baby and the next one will be about the mother/father. Or they will do the story from another person perspective.

One of the most disappointing films Ive seen in awhile. They advertised it as a realistic monster movie and original yet it was filled with cliches, and worst off all the whole save the girl in distress plot, and atop all that, some extremely dumb and unrealistic things for example
girl being impelled through the chest with a spike, then getting up, not bleed to death, and manager to walk and run down 60+ flights of stairs and not seem like anything is wrong with her
The whole film was a let down.

No, it was supposed to be Voltron! Not Cthulu!

Remember the line from the trailer..."I saw it! It's a lion, and it's huge!"

Was Cthulu a lion? No. Was Voltron a lion? Yes.

Actually JJ Abrams has said himself that's what it is. If you read into the viral ads that were made. For instance the main guy's (forgot his name) t-shirt says "Slusho" on it, which is a drink produced by the sea drilling company hes moving to go and work for.

I am and will always be a huge fan of Cloverfield. I think it's probably the most thrilling movie I've ever seen; it's the only movie I've seen that comes close to being a roller coaster ride. Seeing it in theaters was amazing, specifically the scene where the army rushes down the street for the sound, and the helicopter crash. The helicopter crash was amazingly intense in theaters...one of my favorite scenes ever.

I know a lot of people were disappointed because you never find out what really happened, but I think those people missed the point of the movie. It's supposed to be camera footage someone found, not a documentary about where the monster came from and how they defeated it. I loved it.

P.S. I think it's vastly underrated in the effects department too. The Brooklyn Bridge sequence was almost entirely green screen but looked extremely realistic.

Good to see a fellow fan:D

I was hyping the movie ever since I saw the preview for it in July 07, at Transformers. I saw it on opening day, and wasn't let down at all.

After 5 months of dying to see the movie, I was pleased and got what I wanted... Maybe a tad different ending, but maybe that's just up to our imaginations.
