America claims to have independence from the British but it never did quite gain full indepence judging from how the imperial system is still used.
"The system of imperial units or the imperial system (also known as British Imperial) is the system of units first defined in the British Weights and Measures Act of 1824, which was later refined and reduced. The system came into official use across the British Empire. By the late 20th century, most nations of the former empire had officially adopted the metric system as their main system of measurement."
My condolences, America. May you gain independence someday.
I really see no benefit to the increased cost....
This...There's no point.
There is, and that is why industry is slowly switching, actually. Just a question of "now or later?"

Of course there's a point. Its much easier to use and learn plus the rest of the world uses metric/celcius.

TBO don't give too much of a shit. I was just saying it wouldn't really be worth it based on the cost. The system the US has works just fine.

the system where we use two systems, incessantly convert between them, waste time, and basically have no justification for doing so other than inertia? sure.

Like Beans has already pointed out, we already use both. The entire scientific community uses metric and its really only the 'common folk' that still cling to the imperial system. No one is saying switch over night. The rest of the world managed the change. Its obviously feasible that we can do it as well.
@coolbeans90: IDGAF but yeah, cool.
well, **** you
i have to put up with this shit, and my ilk are changing it regardless of whether or not you like it
@HoolaHoopMan: Yeah, I don't really care either way. Good points though and If it happens so be it.
@coolbeans90:
LMAO don't be mad brah, but IReallyDGAF.
No need to switch. Simply convert the units. I like to report my temperatures in kelvin! Right now, its about 260.15K outside! Chilly!

I'd imagine the majority of people in the US use just the one.
