@behardy24: Yes. It was one of my contending choices as 2014 Game of the Year. The AI was very responsive in comparison to other first person shooters, creative, and it used brute force when applicable. That combination of traits made it a challenging, worthwhile experience. It does not feel short, either, even though I completed it in three days from a save after the WWII raid on Deathshead's compound.
I didn't think the AI was that very good overall. I remember there being constant hiccups of the AI just standing there and not shooting (being unresponsive). Also, if you hide behind specific objects the enemy will sometimes just standstill and wait until you come out. I think where the enemy really shines is how diverse they were in terms of enemy types. With their being different types of enemies, from foot soldiers to iron-plated super humans, it required different strategys to make you the player control the engagement and not get overrun. Though it wasn't very deep, since ultimately you just had to put a different amount bullets into different types enemy, it still had a bit of thought required going into. I imagine the harder you go on the difficulty scale, the more thought it would required.
I agree that it does not feel short. It had amazing pacing throughout. Whether be it the cutscenes or the individual levels, it never overstayed its welcome and was all the right amount of time.
What did you think about that game's "identity crisis"? Do you think there was one? On one hand, it wanted to be a serious, blight, dark tale of how the Nazi conquer the entire planet and how the people who do or don't fit under the Nazi's narrow way of the "master race" suffer the consequences. On the other hand, I felt like the game wanted to be comical satire of "FUTURISTIC NAZI!? LET'S SHOOT THEM!" Though it lean towards the former, I always felt like it constantly went back to the comedy just when things started taking a serious tone. What do you think?

At first, I utilized one strategy for Wolfenstein, trench warfare, then I went through the remainder of The New Order utilizing guerrilla warfare.FYI, Tactics are more specific to tasks than strategy. They take place during battle rather than strategy which is formed before.
I wonder what difficulty and platform you played it on. I have the PlayStation 4 version and I played it on "I AM DEATH INCARNATE!" setting. On that difficulty, enemies on patrol walk on a predetermined repeating path. Once alerted to the presence of the player, they use various combat tactics. Some rush, some flank, and some act as tank units, and others use cover, go prone, and force the player to change position with the use of grenades. There was no point that I felt like I was encouraged to stop playing due to a lack of AI.
The premise of The New Order is unrealistic to a certain extent, but The New Order is a serious game because it takes itself seriously. The way that game plays with reference to real history is what makes the fiction of it compelling. Nazi Germany military could have won World War II and the gore is a reminder of that reality. The gusto Blazkowicz shows is a portrayal of what soldiers are actually like; Americans were enthusiastic about entering World War II to defeat the Axis Powers. One only need to look at the way industries changed from civilian to military production during that time to see that.
That's because you double posted and this doesn't merge posts like TDH you

Domino's is better. Especially with that garlic sauce drizzled all over.

Stop abandoning OT. Come back home.
I'm sure it would be a lot easier coming back home if this site could revert to the way it was before October 2013.

Welcome to GS!
Hello! I'm new. Just thought I'd pop in and say hi and have a very happy new year everyone :):):)
Hello, welcome to GS :)
^Yeah, what he said. Always delightful seeing new users show up in here. :D
So Alli, have you wrote any novels for National Writing Month? I 1st completed one in 2013 and even did the next in November 2014. For this year I'm gonna need more time on this one, since, well, it's the last one in the trilogy and I don't want the typical trilogy curse of the 3rd one sucking ass.
@Toph_Girl250: And what about those who abandoned? what about them? What about the dead who have the power to wake up but deny all that and prefer to stay asleep?
Well I for one enjoy sleeping, during Winter I wish I could be just like the bears and just hibernate through it. :P

I am a bear.... and stop stealing my wishes.
I just want to say hello to the new GS users. It's nice to meet new people here on GT/OT. Oh and my names DaVillain, please to meet ya.
Now that we got that out of the way, I can't wait for January 27 to pick up Dying Light and Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. As a DC guy, the last one, Justice League: War was totally awesome and Throne of Atlantis looks really good so far, I might do a review for it here on OT if I do get the chance.

Welcome to GS!
Thank you!
My post limit was reached yesterday after maybe 5 posts so i sadly couldn't keep complaining about not knowing anything. Today my journey begins again.
@ashbee: Oh yes, there's a limit to your post like 5 so use them wisely. Once you reach 25 post, your limits is off so just keep posting till you reach 25 post. I been lurking on GS for years but I'm only new to signing up and so far, I like becoming one with GS Community. If you need anything, feel free to ask DaVillain. (Don't you dare touch my Cherry Pies though and all is well)

The 5 posts until 25 posts thing is another reason why I like old GS better, (I think before 2009 actually) back then, there weren't these rules that feel as though they're too harsh on newcomers.

The old GS had posting restrictions to. :P You most likely didn't encounter them because where at a decent level before you became very active posting wise.
This restriction is no where near as bad as the old. Because the old lasted until level 20, it eased up some, then was gone at level 25.
This restriction on posts is to prevent spam. 5 days of posting 5 times isn't that bad and actually you can get the restriction removed before you reach 25 posts.
Ah, okay, never mind then. :P Guess this clearly means back then not only was GS a lot stricter with rules, but a lot stricter with posting rules for newcomers as well. And yikes level 20, by then I'd say a user is far from being a newcomer. (For me newcomer ends after level 5 - 10.)
That feeling when your whole game is glitched out after many hours of play and have to start over again...
Talk about it.
Reminds me of Fable 3, 20 hrs in. Got bugged out in a certain mission, no reloading autosave or any other save for games using having just one save. Never went back to this horrible game again :(
Today is my name day(we Orthodox Christians have such days). Guys give me your best wishes.
My best wishes.
name day? Can you explain a bit more John, you will be getting a new name something ? :)
Thank you! :P
It's a tradition in some Orthodox countries for people who are named after a saint(in my case saint John - or the greek equivalent). Each saint has a day dedicated to him(some are more prevalent than others) so on that day people of the same name have their name days. All Johns here(translated to greek ofc, there are no actual Johns) have their name days on January 7. Nowadays it's kinda like a second birthday in terms of celebration. People give you their wishes, you might get gifts, maybe treat your friends to dinner or coffee etc.

Yeah, that'll always be my international name. FYI, in greek people call me Yanni. :)
