It depends...if you are reporting a Mod because you either don't like them or you felt like it, then yes, you deserve a moderation.
But if you are reporting a Mod for breaking the rules, there is no reason for you to be punished.
In my experience though, the chance of you finding a Mod breaking a rule is like finding hay in a needle stack. :P
Do you think its right to have your level lowered for reporting a mod? I don't think they should lower your level for it but, instead should give you a warning or ignore the report.mark30001If you're abusing the report yes. But if the moderator did break the rules then no.
How do we know they dont watch out for each other? Even when they do something wrong?mark30001Some of them may, if it's blatant abuse like flaming or advertising then you should bring it up with customer service or maybe PM a different mod for their opinion.
Usually no point in reporting them anyway. They'll get away with what normal users wouldn't. Cases in point calling another user an ass, and implying that another user was a under 13 as an insult, both of which were deemed acceptable.Funky_LlamaYou're never going to let it go?

Precious advice. The mods have handed me my ass on a plate before for reporting one of them.Even if you have knowledge of a rock-solid violation it is best to stay silent.

I've done it before. I only penalized users for reporting mods just because they were angry they got modded for something.JustPlainLucasBut what if the mod was wrong?

But what if the mod was wrong? Then I wouldn't do anything and just leave it to the admins. But say for instance, someone makes a spam thread in a union and a mod comes in and closes it and posts a warning in the board about it. Someone would report that mod for some stupid reason like disrupitve posting or something. That clearly is abusing the report abuse feature, and that user would get punished.
I've done it before. You report a politely-worded post that contained absolutely nothing anyone at all would consider a breach of the Terms of Use, and you expect us not to tell you not to do it again?
I mean, honestly.
Contact customer service is the best way to go.duxup
Last I remember hearing, it was posted that one individual was working Customer Service.

I tried that once, but they told me that it was impossible to reverse them and that they couldn't do anything about it....which sucks.
Contact customer service is the best way to go.BayAreaXim assuming that will involve alot of waiting It took them 2 months to reverse my ban...so yeah, pretty much.

A good ratio would be 1 representative per 100 members.

I think it depends a lot on which mod happens to answer your thread.
If it's Duxup, you're screwed >_>
How do we know they dont watch out for each other? Even when they do something wrong?mark30001You reported this post: "Please note that (1) AtM is not a reporting board, and (2) we have no jurisdiction in the shared boards (i.e., game-specific boards like the one you linked). Both of these points are made in the stickies, which you should read before posting. If you believe the thread is a ToU violation, please report it, and the GameFAQs mod team will attend to it. Thanks. :)" That was a response that you got - and you reported - for asking why one of your threads on a board that we have no authority over (GameFaqs) got locked. I'll leave it to the collective wisdom of the people replying to your topic to determine if that was an abusive report or not. My personal opinion, I've rarely seen a weaker case than yours when someone tries to allege a grand moderator conspiracy to cover up moderator abuse of power and authority and that the abusive mark was clearly justified. :P
Your comment reminds me of a moderation I got for telling another user the person he called a girl was a he...I thought. I got modded for say I thought and when I questioned it in ATM and told them I thought so because the user posted a picture of a male I was told I should have had more evidence. What???I think it helped that the mod was Elraptor, who is pretty damn reasonable. I think it depends a lot on which mod happens to answer your thread.

im assuming that will involve alot of waitingSometimes it involves no response ever....Yep. I've contacted Customer Service about two things. One of them I waited over a month for and got a response from JodyR, which I strongly suspect was a generic one, that suggested I read the religious topic guidelines. The other, I've still had no answer to as yet.

Contact customer service is the best way to go.LJS9502_basic

At least you didn't get moderated for an opinion. Hell, everyone that thread got moderated for posting their opinion because a mod got upset. I'm not going to name any names though.
I didn't know remember what the article was about, but it was hilarious. The reason for his moderation was "indirectly linking to pron." After that, I'm surprised that posting a link to google won't get you moderated.
You had the wrong opinion?Apparently, hence the reason I try to stay away from religion topics.
At least you didn't get moderated for an opinion.
