I actually heard the opposite, the country is very upset at him because of the sanctions, sanctions have hurt his cronies, so they've been diverting public funds to soften losses to his industry cronies, meaning people are getting fired from their jobs, money isn't going into essential services, people are getting their wages cut, education and medical services are getting fucked, hard to believe his approval could be so high

The massive Russian helicopter flight into Crimea was one of the most beautiful moments of 2014.

What most Westerners don't realize is that the purpose of the Russian troop insertion was to protect the Crimean parliament and prevent the use of Crimea's airports to introduce NATO-backed terrorists into Crimea. Putin's actions allowed the people of Crimea to vote in favor of secession from Ukraine.

Those helicopters flew for freedom, democracy and a people's right to self-determination!

I dont tend to believe any approval rating that high. Usually you only see those in countries like North Korea where the rating is 100%. Even popular US presidents dont get ratings much higher than 60%

Russia's economy is in the shitter. I suspect a lot of ppl are not entirely pleased with his performance. Granted, those people tend to mysteriously die.
