What's the point of having a private profile??

I mean does it make you feel important?? Or exclusive??

You want your privacy? From who?? Don't want strangers to look at your profile?? The people in your friendlist are strangers already.

What's the worst that could happen for having it public (the profile) ??

lol. Maybe that's your answer. I'm guessing some posters are worried about weirdos tracking their every move.

Some people close their profiles because of the comment ratings abuse. It's anonymous trolling, and there aren't many options for dealing with it.

Also keeping creepers and stalkers away, of course :P

This has been asked before, but I have a darn good reason.

A person tracked me that I asked not to. He refused, so a private profile blocks him...only those I track back can see my profile.

Aside from that, there's been a heavy influx of low-level accounts lately, and a problem where good users have had their blog comments thumbed-down.

So a private profile keeps the "riff-raff" out, and my friends don't have their comments thumbed-down.:P
