This new site sucks ass so far. It loads WAY slower than the old site for me and I keep getting errors. Hell I had to page back 4 times just to get this thread to load. First time I got a "file not found". The next three times just loaded an blank white page.
The site literally just launched, of course it's gonna be a bit slow and full of errors. Just give it some time.

That's completely understandable.
But holy hell the UI is making my brain hurt. It's not easy to look at or navigate.
Hard to navigate
Don't like the layout
And can anyone find topic post history? (ie so we don't have to search the entire topic for our last read post?)
Anyone know if they're going to be adding boards back in? No PC Hardware section and no Sports section is really stupid.

Yeah, go to profile.
It's under both feed and the forum tab.
I'd prefer it be called post history. Calling it a forum tab doesn't make much sense. And it's just stupid the way they designed it.
I know it's going to take a few days for the servers to get up to speed so the site will be sluggish and there will be some kinks and a getting used to it period and I can live with all of that.
However, the main feature of Gamespot's forums that kept me here (besides the community of course) was the unread counts and being able to click on them to jump right to the next unread post in a topic. I'll give them some time to bring that back, otherwise I'll be looking for a new forum to frequent.

I agree with this. This was one of the features that made the forums standout amongst the rest.
This site isnt even done yet. This is merely a shell of whats to come. Relax, people. This is much cleaner and more "modern", if such a term can be used for this. Cant wait to see whats in store.
I agree with this guy.
BOO!!! Did this Spoiler work?
How the **** do you browse for games now? Legacy platforms and genres are completely gone, as is sort by score, you just see a clusterfuck of pages of every single game ever released. Even the "coming soon" tab just shows a clusterfuck of indie games nobody gives a shit about and they're not sorted by ANYTHING. Not to mention the site runs like shit now
So the OP is visible at the top of every page of the thread??? Not sure how I feel about that...
The OP being on top of the page on every page is for poll posts only.
I mean, I appreciate everything that you're trying to do, but I loved having separate forums on the PC aspect, because games and hardware are two different things and it was nice having that separation. Great job on the aesthetics of the new website, but it's going to take some getting use to for sure. My only suggestion would be to bring back that hardware forum.
New site. Overall, it's much nicer, although they need to add a lot.
They need to bring back the pages under topics(and this would make the topic view look less cluttered, because it looks cluttered right now). Let us see someone's entire username under the avatar. Add back the unread posts count and the ability to see if there are new posts in a topic you posted in(boldface topic). And bring back the missing boards, such as PC Hardware and AV Hardware.
I'm honestly not sure at the moment. I mean, some things were better on the old site, like unions, UCBs and the Sports board, which I still can't find. The new one has buttons for embedding tweets and videos.
EDIT: It cut half my post. WTF?!

Ah, that's good to know. Still looks pretty odd though.
Old site was better, but I'm sure the new site will improve in time... not so great right now b/c it's on the fix.
Well considering it took like 5 min to get logged in. I can't customize avatars, it took another 2 min just to get to off-topic forums I'd say the old Gamespot is better by miles. How could they have worked so long on a new site and still failed this terribly?
I cant change my avatar or sig..
I would image you will be able to once the glitches are ironed out. It'll probably take a few days.

I found that
It has my last post
But what about the ability to take me to my last read post from the topic?

Here you go. Just too bad you can't post in it right now. :(
Easily the old site.
The new look is awful, new layout is confusing, we lost alot of features while not really gaining anything, etc.
Really this whole redesign is awful and was a terrible idea. Still can't believe they thought it kosher to just go and take away tons of stuff while not adding anything new. You don't take steps back like that...
New site is a lot better.
Navigating is easier, it's much less busy, video page doesn't break if you zoom in, videos don't keep playing forever, the review page is beautiful, and the site actually scales to mobile screens instead of having a broke-ass mobile site.
I don't know what you guys are complaining about. Then again, every redesign ever gets complaints. Same story with every single Gamespot redesign.

The sports board was my favorite section. It better come back.
I second this.

I didn't know that existed. Huh. I guess I can't miss it then.
The new site is counter-intuitive in terms of navigation. The forums (what really gets me coming back) are formatted terribly. Why the **** are they wasting a third of the screen on inane BS?
I dont mind the new one but I've noticed that alot of forums posts are missing.
Like I just posted a new question on AC3 forums and the entire thing is empty now.
Say it aint permanent....
It looks like they are having some serious server issued after the change over. I would imagine it will probably take a couple of days for everything to settle down and begin running correctly. I know in betas posts would disappear and then be back later. Hopefully it's all just server issues they are trying to deal with.
I can't be the only one annoyed that long usernames are cut off...
I'm going to give it some time before I decide if I like the new site or not
